Your the only person I've known actually remember Derek walker!!!,I mentioned him once before on another thread and nobody seemed to remember him.
He for me was the worst(footballer?) to wear a town shirt.

But I stress - no new money.
My interpretation.
The Manager was handed a budget last season then allowed further licence on the understanding any subsequent signings must be financed by player exits or from this year's balance sheet.
All of which was left in the hands of Chris Turner.
A Board meeting which Cook attended last Spring confirmed as much.
However PC has since lined up deals to bring in recruits that go beyond the given funding, resulting in Dave Allen understandably saying he's loaned all he's prepared to and it's now down to other Board members to bridge the gap.
Money they apparently refused to sanction last week.
So here's where we are.
Chesterfield FC have a wage bill in line with quite a number at our level, though unfortunately it's been pretty much allocated to the current squad. Therefore unless our boss can unearth another gem or two on the cheap we're relying upon Gnanduillet and Doyle up front.
The blame game?
The Chairman has chucked in the best part of eight million - at least two more than he planned because the package he initially bought into fell significantly short of reality - so can't really be criticised for saying 'enough's enough'. The bloke to whom he handed the day-to-day running of the Club appears to've dropped a major b*ll*ck, failing to understand the impact of the contracts he brokered going forward. The CEO has done some positive work in terms of supporter engagement, yet this has to raise questions regarding his wider competence. Allen's fellow Boardmembers, it would seem, aren't prepared to extend their involvement in CFC. Those paying elevated prices to sit in the stands can pass their own judgement on that. The Manager has had a season and a half to build his own squad, and whilst he's delivered everything asked of him (and more!) issues over our striking options remain prominent. Infact we're arguably weaker in that department than twelve months ago.
Me?
I'll take one point above the bottom four - hell, make that one goal if I knew where it was gonna come from - here and now.
If this is true then Chris Turner should do the honourable thing and resign first thing Monday morning which will free up a wage

Who said anything about anyone being happy? No fker is happy
You have been spoilt with success and fast changing times at town in recent years and you think stamping your feet like the proverbial kid in a sweetshop, saying you've wasted your money on a season ticket etc will change things. It won't
Since when has being a season ticket holder at town been just about winning?
Yes it's going to be hard next year and we may be battling against the odds, but it time to grow a pair and get behind them come what may. If you going to be moaning all the time you may be better off actually asking for your money back, as I'm sure they will give it you and leave the rest of us to get on with it.

Make the agreed signings and everything will be positive.
Announce we have no money and the fans will voice their concerns publicly

Preferably the other 23 teams in this league as we romp our way to the title. Mmm, I think the brewery lied about the strength of this beer

I was browsing in WH Smiths in Meadowhall last week and saw his autobiography. Couldn't resist looking up the bit he 'wrote' about the ten minutes he played for us. He mentioned the fact hat he was booed onto the pitch by both sets of supporters but claims not to have noticed it himself. Well Terry, take it from one who was there, it did happen and was very noisy too, it seemed to last for ages too. Very well deserved and a fitting end to your career.

He only played half a 1st team game so he can hardly be judged worst ever player on that.

Yep.
If we've not got it, we shouldn't spend it. I can live with that - it's a mantra that steered us through choppier waters than this in the past. It's the fact that we've still not got it despite having the best infrastructure this clubs ever had, coming off one of the best seasons we've ever had, that is bugging me.
By way of reassurance try reminding yourself that Roy McFarland kept us at L1 level for years with the likes of Tcham N'Toya & Mark Innes. I'm sure Cook is more than capable of doing similar, but it's because of our last L1 foray & the way the scene has been set for this season why it's so difficult to truly believe at the moment. I wish the season could start tomorrow so we could all see exactly where we stand.
Also, what if the plan is to try and get by this season on an absolute shoestring, with the intention of mounting a serious investment in the squad in 15/16?

What's happened from the wages from Richards, Togwell etc???
Go and read the Higdon thread, it's all on there. Apparently their wages have been swallowed up by pay rises to the squad for getting promoted.

Tempting but I'll probably just keep coming and whining every week.

Who's happy? As the previous poster said there's been way worse times than this. We support the club. Rain or shine. Ups and downs, and accept the pain that goes with that. If you've got the monk on about your 340 quid then you're not quite as bought into this fan thing as you think you are.....

Personally, I don't think Davies is the answer but he would be better than nobody and it's no secret DA rates him after his last spell here.
