How long is it since Neil Grayson played for us? Seems like decades

He must be about 50 as it was over 20 years ago

Close, he's 49. Played for us 91-92 season. I played against him once when my Sunday League team played a Town XI on the Saltergate pitch. He played in goal and tipped a bullet header of mine over the bar. I think Firedodger and Bucko would have played in the same match but I doubt they'll remember my nearly moment of glory. But it's true , true I tell you.

Don't be surprised to see him dust off his boots and play a few games for them if needed.

I remember the game very clearly seeing as I was the poor bleeder who was stood in goal watching wave after wave of the town XI come dancing past our statuesque defence on their way to scoring 17 goals. Honestly I swear at various times during that game they were using about three match balls and had twenty players on the pitch.
And no I don't remember the header, you should have been back in defence preparing to repel the imminent onslaught anyway.

IIRC was at Swansea at the time (who were Div 4) and moved to Coventry soon after.

Aye, John Williams. I thought each club entered a player and ours was Grayson? Think he clocked 12.12, which was not bad in football boots

Shardlow St James played at "The Wharf" appx 5/10 mins. from jct 24. The ground was very rural and not up to standard for the Central Midlands league in which they played in for almost 20 years. However according to my sadly departed none league watching mate the standard of the ground was not important as they produced an excellent programme and it was one of his favourite trips as it was "Brentfordesque" due to the locality of 4 excellent pubs within a short walk of the ground. Also another sadly departed local lad played for them for awhile Nigil Scattergood of Grouse fame

From what I've heard, it's a bit unusual for a bloke from Inkersall to be shacked up with only two women!
