Even when we got relegated from L1 (not the last one, the time before) we gave credit to Downes and Hazell and let's be honest they'd been nothing special, just decent. If he was good he'd be getting the credit he deserves.

Bristol Rovers fans have seen him more than us, they can see past the goals - good on them for not being blinded on someone's ability simply by how many goals they've score.
he has never been a fancy dan he is a big strong workmanlike player,he played well at the proact.

He scored 13 goals and a lot of Rovers fans don't rate him - what do you put that down to?
Also, why do you think all the Rovers fans are saying he has an attitude problem? What's your reading on that?
He got 0 assists last season according to the Rovers manager. What do you make of that?

Our stats work out perfectly:
http://www.bbc.co.uk...eld/top-scorers
If you add up all the FL goals scored you get to 71, the correct tally.
But if you go on the Bristol Rovers or Torquay stats they only add up to about 30, falling quite a bit short of their actual 'goals for' tally for the season.

What am I missing here? Is it just bad reporting and there are players who scored goals for both teams but aren't listed or the players listed scored more goals than accounted for?

A mostly unanimous conclusion on The Football Forum and a less than glamorous appraisal on the Bristol Rovers forum. I'm reading through the thread about him now - "attitude problem, attitude problem, decent player but attitude problem/lazy, good anticipation but selfish".

i make out that he scored more than richards...at the end of the day we may be signing a player with goals in his pedigree at league level who also adds a bit of beef to the side ..how can it be a bad thing?

Yeah, how can it be a bad thing? A signing going wrong in some way or another due to bad attitude, that would never Mark Randall happen Dean Morgan would Terrell Forbes it? Again, not saying it WILL.
I feel I need to clarify - I am only replying on this thread because everyone is quoting my posts and replying directly to me, which is fine, but I want to make it clear I don't have anything against O'Toole personally, I just think, based on what ive read from football fans the same as myself I would be looking at other players. Just as I am giving an opinion on a player "despite not watching him enough", so are people such as chester's ringer and bonnyman - it's just that their opinions are more positive.

Every player is different, and lower league players are lower league players for a reason, or a flaw if you like.
However, any players performance over a season can and is usually massively affected by the players around him, and JJO has been surrounded by under performing players.
I'd also take wheat every single football fan says with a pinch of salt, including myself!
PC won't take someone who won't fit the team mould, and will have done his homework on the personality and personal traits of any players he's interested in.
Of all the names we've been linked with already this close-season, this is one of the better ones (sensible names, at least).

I don't know what you want from me mate lol, I've said he could well be good, of course he could turn out good and of course you could mention a myriad of players who have had apparent bad attitudes and gone to a certain club and done well (Craig Davies for one), it's just if I was in charge I wouldn't sign him. I'm not in charge, so my opinion doesn't matter.

You are wrong, wrong wrong.. "Do not want" , cant have players with "attitude problem[s]". Etc etc. good job you dont make decisions or we wouldn't have Morsey or Jones for example, both with so called attitude problems before they came to us, and what did Morsey do last year..... Wait on.... Player of the year was it? Dont be too quick to judge yee who is without sin.
