I had £8 on us to be champions at 9/1
I know it's not a lot, but I only bet what I can afford

All done on betfair mate, lay the bet you've placed (I.e lay Cfc to win the league, you'll make a profit no matter what) it means you act as bookmaker for that particular bet

Normally odds are structured so that if you bet on every possible outcome you will come out with less than you started with. But having backed town at 9/1 if you put some on Rochdale and Scunthorpe now at 3/1 and 4/1 you are guaranteed to make something regardless of who wins the league.

Depends how much of a gambler you are.
I'd rather slap £150 on Scunny and Rochdale. That way you win either £450, £600 or £700 regardless of the outcome. Free season ticket and holiday spending money right there. Either way you're still backing town to win as thats the biggest earner but if they don't you've got some free cash.
Or you can gamble and win either £1000 or £0

Not what I asked....I know the reasoning behind laying bets.....but surely if someone is confident we get the win ....why would they???
Obviously those laying bets are not confident we get the result required??

It wouldn't make much difference about how confident I was. I'd want the cash in my pocket. Football throws up some funny results, usually when I have cash on it.

But surely if you was confident laying bets off only costs you some of the winnings.
