Wednesday players preparing to hand in their notice after wages unpaid/late for a third month out of four.
A new hope.

Very sad situation especially considering he turned down an offer to sell which was very competitive. Something strange here and smacks of the Brown scenario at town.

Season tickets went on sale in December so most of that money likely gone already.

HMRC unpaid.
A new hope.

Speaking to a colleague who supports Wednesday, the owner has lost his source of money as the Family took steps to remove his access to the family fortune. Since then he’s been looking for money you’d really not want to source money from. They are in real danger of not having a club.

The guy is in way above his head. The club doesn't own the ground since he sold it to himself so it's basically worthless. Unless he gives it away it's not looking good.

Off topic, but slightly related - Morecambe’s board of directors intend to put the club in administration this morning over the owner refusing to sell
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

I don't like to see any club in danger of going to the wall because where do the fans go? It's not like life long supporters are going to the club down the road. I would have been devastated if my beloved Spireites had gone to the wall, so I hope both Morecambe and Wednesday find new owners.

The owner is being an idiot and apparently Wednesday are getting the brunt of his general financial issues. That mixed with his stubbornness to sell is not a good mix and going to cost them massively as they seemed to be turning a corner on the field with Rohl in charge. There are interested parties that could buy and save things but it needs Chansiri to stop messing about. In fact its very similar to Morecambe who again have buyers but a current owner is acting up and causing problems.

For all our rivalry with them they are a big well supported club and it shouldnt be happening but as we well know when owners\backers start acting up its the fans and club that bear the brunt of it.

Throw in Leicester who are apparently in big financial difficulty as well.

Similar to what my dad who is a season ticket holder at Hillsborough was telling me. Family effectively paid him off to get him out of the family business and he spent it on a football club and now is struggling to fund things. Has been borrowing from different places to keep different things going and now its all going belly up! Whats strange is that the offers he got for the club were not ridiculous but he still turned them down when you would think he would just take what he could get and run!

Sorry dont care what club it is but i would never want another club to go bust. Every club has their tosspot fans including us but thats not a reason to want one to go under for the rest of them. I know plenty of very decent Wednesday fans.

I'm more saddened to hear about that than the Wednesday debacle.

Wednesday's greed got them into bed with the devil. I have little sympathy. When our club was in free fall they barely noticed.

They did....in fact they had spent quite a while warning us about Dave Allen!

I find it a little disturbing that fans want another club to fold. No. I wish Wednesday all the best and hope they can reset. Very difficult situation for them and it goes to show all that glitters isn't gold. Morecombe too. Clubs are the lifeblood of the community be they large or relatively small. In a time of endless individualism and plenty of division within society a football club is a focus for the community - as we have discovered. Best wishes to Morecombe and Wed.

Not sure how that relates to 95% of their fan base who firstly have no control or say in how their club is run and secondly are simply genuine football supporters, like most of us, that are in grave danger of losing their beloved club.

If you’re happy to see historic clubs like Wednesday go to the wall because you don’t like them, who are you replacing them with?

Another Salford? Or Crawley? Or Bromley?
