been a long time since we played a 2 legged match, to spend the whole week being 0-2 is a strange thing, this is not over yet, vital we go into friday's game positively. 1st goal all important as we know and if we get it, well who knows, btw, anyone if the club are showing the game friday night?

not so, there is a game friday evening, i've just checked the fixtures for you, the club haven't conceded the tie, so we have a go, yes we've given ourselves a big hill to climb but it is definitely not over.

Wager on it?

You’re so confident so let’s say we don’t qualify at FT and I get we qualify at FT or it’s a draw? If I’m wrong £10 to give to you to do with whatever you want , if you’re wrong £20 to Ashgate.

We missed Ollie in midfield today, MO was awful again today, hope he doesn't start Friday. McFaz was being man handled by their big no.9, I think Grimes would have been better tackling him in the air.Score an early goal on Friday and the tie will be ours.

Boot

Mandeville

Palmer
Grimes
Mcfadzean

Sparkes

Metcalfe
Fleck
Naylor

Dobra

If one of those crossbar hitting efforts has been an inch or two lower last Sat'di, we'd have collectively shrugged and deemed it an acceptable season under the circumstances.

But we earned a bonus.

Frustratingly, that bonus saw us encounter a well organised - though irritatingly negative and cynical - outfit who took their chances whilst we didn't.

So we've a Derbyshire peak to scale. And yeah, let's be honest, it's looking unlikely. However I expect them to set up exactly the same - as an away side at home - which'll allow us initiative. I also expect Sparkes and Dobra to start.

Noticeable how many headers Palmer won from set pieces, too.

As everyone agrees it's all about the first goal. In fact if there's only one in it as we enter the closing stages I want to see a blitz on their goal.

Please, let's not have a Cheltenham-esque sideways pass with their box overloaded...

palmer won almost every first contact from our corners/free kicks yesterday, problem was we never got 1st to the knock downs, this has to be looked at going into friday's game

Feel a bit for the stick MO is getting from some. He wasnt great yesterday although it wasnt for a lack of trying but he has played a big part in the recent run to get us to the point we had a game yesterday. Yes he's a bit raw and i sometimes dont think its a coincidence that he has better spells when he is on the same side of the pitch as the coaching team in games but i dont think he should be hung out to dry as some are doing.

I keep re-running the chance they had in the first 20 seconds. Their player just coasts straight past Colclough and Naylor, who are both onlookers standing near the touchline. Tom Naylor's role is causing me some concern. His strength is his strength. I get he's useful at set pieces and coming late to support Grigg but fundamentally he's a defensive midfielder - cutting incidents like their first minute chance off at source.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

The yellow card, which was a bit unfortunate due to him slipping but was a yellow, seemed to kill his confidence. Nothing went for him after that.

Yeh he seemed to end up trying a bit too hard to make things happen and get in the game. He also wasnt helped by what seemed to be the instruction to try and drag the wing back inside to make room for Mandeville wide at one point. Not his strength being more central.

Agree again, young man giving his all, still lots to learn, but just like People effort cannot be questioned and some of the comments really should be better worded than totally writing a youngster off, especially when it was an all round poor team performance.

Said before KO that the watering has only caused us problems over the past several games, just seems to be our players that slip.Is this another action that requires monitoring?

You would think that the management team would ensure that our players have the correct studwear for the conditions.
Presumably no one at the club has knowledge of our Rodney Fern inspired 7-0 victory over Bury all those years ago. (Ice rather than water then)
