Pitch is an absolute disgrace - needs sorting!

What an exaggeration. It isn’t a disgrace and is in a much better state than many others after this winter’s terrible weather. I’ve confidence in our ground staff to improve matters, provided we now get a drier Spring.

Jones or Shecks for me. We were very good today I thought, good response to last week atleast

Fancy us to get a hatful Tuesday as well and tee up Saturday very nicely

Same two for me.

I’d got Jones edging it.

Good win today despite best efforts of referee

First five minutes he looked as if he would actually be unbiased (which is all we ask and expect), but IMO nooooo! Obviously would need to see highlights to confirm but in real time thought Grigg should have had a penalty, our players do not get in the refs ear without reason.Their penalty in real time looked to be ball to hand at close quarters.Their goal followed from two definite fouls on our players giving them the room they needed. The amount of times their players committed two handed pushes on our players without redress yet shoulder to shoulder from our players deemed to be fouls, and noone can tell me that every time Dobra went to ground it was a dive. All IMO obviously.

That pitch would have been pure bliss to play on compared to the mud baths of the 70s and 80s, but you're right, we've had wall to wall rain so a dryer spring will help enormously.

Anyone thinks our pitch is a disgrace, what is your opinion of the Bradford pitch (amongst many others in the EFL)?

Just one negative with our performance today for me,Mandy. It may just be my opinion but I thought a couple of games ago that Mandy had come through his bout of COVID.Not a good performance last week and today, for me,looked well off the pace,he did not have a good run in him.
A little concerned because he is another key player for us.COYB

I enjoy the competitiveness of this league and the standard of the game has improved immensely in the past 6 seasons. The days of teams coming to score one before shutting up shop by time wasting, falling over with every brush past them or swamping the ref to get players sent off are fading away with ever season. But the standard of the refereeing is still awful.
Some of the officials still try to make it all about themselves, I've said it before and I stand by it. They are on the cusp of going into the football league and want to prove that they can cope with a large crowd but they sometimes just go too far. The Grigg penalty appeal was nailed on and was simply the worst decision (with the exception of the karate kick on Jak McCourt) I've seen go against us. That ref today got booked off the pitch which must've been a first after us winning by such a margin. I will definitely be glad to see the backs of most of these clowns that call themselves officials.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

AFC Fylde manger very bitter towords the ref in his interview, keeps harping on about it.

There are some awful pitches out there mate, and some near the top of the pyramid too. Hillsborough used to be a carpet but not now and the old Millmoor was like a South Yorkshire version of the Somme of 1916. I don't think Bradford is anywhere near in as good a condition as ours. The worst, or one of them, must be the Shay. Through the winter it reassembled a well used pig wallow.

Probably the most inarticulate post match manager I’ve heard.
As you say, he says the ref gave us everything. And apparently the last goal didn’t cross the line.
Never saw their players complain. Anybody at that end of the stadium?

Just cos others have poor pitches doesn’t mean we should - the team want to play football yet the ball bobbles all over the place

And to those saying pitches used to be worse, it’s not the 70s anymore

Watched a bit of Southend game and their pitch was miles better than ours and they’ve had no money all season!

Exactly the performance and result I was hoping for.

A proper battling team effort and I thought there were some big performances from a lot of the lads this afternoon. I thought HT and the back four were superb and Mike Jones inclusion in the starting 11 brings out the best in them.

I don't think we could have asked for much more.

So did the DT but I agree that his over all game is a little short of the standards he has set himself.

However, maintaining top form throughout a season is difficult and he always shows for the ball no matter whether things are going for him or not.

Back to basics.

Earn the right to win.

Jones, Naylor, Banks key.

Dobra a constant threat.

Grigg worked their defence tirelessly.

Shecks created our first, Horton nullified their pace.

Mandeville his regular 'eight'.

Grimes and Palmer in almost total control.

Fylde the division's form outfit? Really don't see how.

Even their boss was booked instead of Cook.

A performance of champions.

Which'll be underlined at Boundary Park next week...

The silly sod took his best player, Haughton, off at 3 nil to save him for Kidderminster on Tuesday. He’d given up on the game and he’s trying to cover up his action.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Thought Tyrer brought off some fantastic saves, the one at full stretch in the first half, the penalty save plus the rebound, palm out from under the bar. Best keeper we’ve had for a few years.

Agreed.

I see his contract at Everton is up in 2025. Do you think HT and Sean Dyche will be up for another season of development in division 2? Let's hope so.
