A young Spireites went down to a 2-0 defeat at Long Eaton United in the Derbyshire Senior Challenge Cup on Tuesday night.

Totally agree, I was expecting some good performances on the back of the Southport game but we lacked any quality or attacking threat on a heavy pitch. To be fair, neither did Long Eaton. The first was a headed own goal from the defender who had no-one around him at the time and the second was the goalie and defender not communicating and colliding with each other leaving an empty net for the mardy number 9 to slot home and celebrate like he had scored an FA Cup final winning goal.

Very disappointing. Was expecting more. The post match refreshments compensated for the earlier disappointments though.
