To be fair i'm not sure anyone said that training would make you as fast as Bolt....

To be fair. Even Usain Bolt would train.

True! But I don’t need to be any faster!

Why have you still got the runs?

I starterd running just under 5 years ago. My mile time back then would have been about 8 minutes. If I raced a mile now, I'd be looking to break 5 minutes. I'm nearly 42. I'll never challenge Usain Bolt over 100 meters but then I'm not a phenom.

Who holds the record for the 100 meters ?

Ken Dodd 1965.

Even worse is when away fans bring a drum to E1/E2. I sit in E4 and it’s well annoying. I’ve raised it with club. No response so far

How have you raised it with the club?
The club has no issue with away fans bringing a drum as we have one. They think it would be hypocritical to say the away club isn't allowed one if we are.
I contacted all the NL clubs last season to ask if they allowed away fans to bring a drum and obviously they needed to be informed before ones taken.

The question was raised and voted on at one of the early fans forums, where they voted in favor of allowing away supporters to bring a drum, obviously they don't take in the thoughts of the fans after all??

It wasn't voted on in the fans forum, the question was asked who was for away fans bringing a drum. It wasn't a proper poll, just an on the spot out of who was there, what their opinion was.
The club has told me that as we allow a drum, then they feel the away team should also be allowed a drum.

But the whole point of playing at home is to have that advantage, if only the home support has a drum, then that would help lift the support when needed, by allowing away supporters a drum that negates that advantage a little bit.

Maybe the club could put out a vote on social media sites to gauge fan feedback znd go with the majority from them, instead of just a very small group at the fans forum?

I didn't say that.

But, pace without positional sense doesn't necessarily improve a player.

Being in the right place at the right time is better than being the quickest to get to the wrong place.

You would assume most players at this level have the anticipation anyway, granted some more than others. So if you can gain the extra half a yard to be in that place quicker then why not?
Who put the ball in the Mansfield net? Super Jackie Lesterrrr

OK, but tell 'em where they can stick it ( no not there) - not just anywhere they decide is a good idea - like as close as they could possibly get to home fans in E3 recently. It should be as far away from home fans as the club decides is possible, and the club should insist and enforce that decision. Rolling up with a drum and being free to go where you like with it, with no direction, no control, and no concern from the CFC for its own fans isn't good enough.

I haven’t a problem with away fans in the North stand having a drum as it’s far enough away to be tolerable.
I raised this by email on 9 August. Tony Booker replied and asked for my phone contact so he could discuss which I provided by email. I didn’t get any further response.
I raised this again by email with Tony on 27 October, again no response.

Spireitetoo and Boot make good points on this issue also.

I get the reason for home supporters being in North stand which means the East will nearly always have away fans present. But if this is to generate more support in terms of noise for us an away drum is counterproductive.

Thanks for the survey of clubs you did. It looks like we are on the minority in allowing drums in for away fans.

Looks like the centre back that went off injured after losing out in a shoulder to shoulder with Grigg first half has done his ACL in the incident and is done for the season.

Like I said, I was surprised at the price for the game.

We obviously have proven business acumen driving HMS Spiriete forward now.
God I hate this league.

It'll only be obvious when evidence of that acumen is reflected in the club's accounts.

Will it though? How many football clubs make a profit?! Those currently running the club have significant business acumen from hard work and experience…. Not family money but business acumen. That alongside a desire to see their home club prosper is something we should be very grateful for.

Hold on, who said anything about making a profit? Our financial performance in the last few years has been absolutely dire, the Kirks themselves spoke of getting to grips with this. Talking the talk is the easy bit, I am hopeful we'll soon be seeing concrete evidence of their business credentials shining brightly in the club's accounts.

Fair enough, you didn’t say profit. So I’m not sure what you expect to see in the accounts to show their credentials. We have invested £000k’s in the training ground which is a great move but will only show as a cost in the accounts!
