So having listened carefully to Karen Johnson from the Chesterfield Post interviewing Ashley Carson it would appear the purchase price of CFC is actually £15,100,000.

1. Dave Allen wants £6,000,000 for the shareholding held by himself and his daughter Sue Roberts, although he only actually paid £4,000,000 for them.

2. It his now stated his personal loans to the club stand at £5,400,000.

3. Apparently the mortgage on the ground through A & S Leisure is not included in the above and is a further £2,000,000.

4. The directors who left the board earlier this year are still owed £1,700,000.

5. Mike Warner,John Croot and Ashley Carson also have loans and shares in the club which are not part of the above figures.

The reality therefore is that anyone wishing to buy the club is going to have to bring funds of somewhere approaching £20,000,000 to the negotiating table to be able to run the club as well.

Absolutely gobsmacking !

Basically it isn't going to happen.

And people still think it's being badly run?

It doesn't generate a profit, it's now heavily saddled with debt and he's having to prop the business up every month for a poxy 5% return!

It's not obvious, but why does he consider it such a valuable asset?

Two more non renewals here from me and my dad who have been going every year since the early nineties. Sad times but I just don't care about the club or its performances while ever it is being so badly run and managed. I can't believe I'm actually not bothered if it goes under but I'm not.

I believe this is Allen's reasoning for his asking price, but don't think it's been actively advertised for sale

You could be forgiven for thinking that the asking price is just another part of the game. I thought it was interesting that Carson said he hoped Allen would return to watch games in future.
Really? I thought he wanted out? Or was the toys out of the pram episode another part of the plan?
'Cretins, I've changed my mind. I'm keeping the club - Ashley and I do very well out of it - but I'm not spending anymore than I have to, so it's League 2 or nothing. Get used to it and be grateful. I am your master so don't you dare question me again or I'll threaten you with oblivion again. Oh, and send me your first born'.

Are the share price and loan amounts one and the same thing or two separate entities?

It's puzzling to know how this ends. Allen must have an alternative ending planned as he's not stupid enough to think he's going to end up with this money.
