He should be able to either get a refund on train tickets, or atleast get them changed, with a small admin fee payable.
Trainline.com charge £10 I think to change a booking, if the tickets are not refundable.

I'd bill Swindon for it aswell. Hope they get sent off or a muscle strain now for the rearranged fixture

All our big signings made this week will have time to bed in for the rearranged fixture

Unfortunately fans dont really come into it and its not anything new. For a number of years now its always been the case that x number of call ups leads to a postponement. The difference is that these days the Premiership and Championship have free weeks penciled into the fixture list since the introduction of the international calendar by FIFA so its only needed for the lower leagues where it wont affect that many clubs. Sadly we're one thats got caught up this time around and the wonder that is stupidly high train fares meaning you have to book early non refundable fares to make it affordable doesnt come into it.

Ouch! Frear's Ghost will probably go to task on Swindon and the Football League....

Frearsghost is furious, not just for himself but for others who have lost money with this postponement only 11 days before the game is due to be played. For those able to make the mid-week game it will cost them £20 to alter their tickets.
It's also lost value on our season tickets as some won't be able to make the mid-week re-arrangement. Swindon should have made this possibility known weeks before so that fans making arrangements could have been prevented from throwing money down the drain.
Swindon have a squad of more than 20 players; more than enough to have fielded a side. Fans shafted again.

I suppose Swindon fans would say they're being messed about having to play a game with 2/3 players missing.
If we lost 3 fit players, (say Morsy, Roberts and Tendayi just for arguments sake) we'd want the game postponed as well.
Maybe FIFA should set up a fan's compensation scheme for when smaller clubs are disproportionately affected by international call-ups (eg, in this case CFC and STFC fans can claim out of pocket expenses)

Clubs know the rules when they sign players and clubs, swindon, us or anyone else, should take a hit and field their best team. Imo.

The alternative view would be that the paying fan is penalised for having a successful team, and this disproportionately hurts smaller clubs (ie. non prem) and weakens the overall competition.

Clubs know the rules? Presumably that's why they have applied to call it off and possibly why they signed the third international recently as they couldn't have called it off for the 2 they had.
