Why did he go 3-3-4 with Boden as the centre mid?

He didn't really do much wrong - OK, his header landed at their attacker's feet in the build up to there goal but that was another second-ball we didn't win, just like we weren't battling all night. The second goal was simply bizarre, sometimes our defence just melts away when faced with people running at them into the area
And when Page came on Gregor did more on the left in those few minutes than Morris seemed to do all night
It's just so frustrating. There are some real conundrums out there at the moment....Davies is scoring for fun but sometimes seems incapable of controlling the ball, Whittaker has a great brain and a clean-strike but simply could not find a blue-shirt with short passes today (he was most at fault for the first goal by finding the ref instead of our player), the defence sometimes look so composed on the ball but for all their tippy-tapping about nothing was being created. you could tear your hair out

We looked very poor everywhere tonight. No cohesion at all about our play. Makeshift defence looked very suspect. If not for Tommy we could have lost by 4 or 5..

I agree that he did he best and wasn't awful but don't think he should have been there.
Struggling to think of a positive.
Worryingly as soon as the second half started we all agreed that we were likely to lose.
So clueless were we that Sheridan's only option was to load up the top with attacking players but ultimately it didn't help.
Why was Davies out wide? Of course he's been a matchwinner but in a side struggling to get involved he ends up a selfish, luxury player. Glad in a way it's only the cup on Saturday as we need to reassess and quickly.

But isn't that worrying in itself murray, that we have a couple of injuries/suspensions and we turn from a table topping team to one that rollsover to a team that had lost their previous 5 games?

i asked the same question about davies and thinking about it now. It just seems everytime he went for the ball he was making the run out wide.
Boden and Bowery came on and didnt do a thing.

Hunt had a shocker. But then, so did everybody after the first 15 minutes! We were cruising, then we just started dallying on the ball and allowed ourselves to be bullied - it was garbage.
