They can get players fairly easily if they go low enough!! I marked a lad in Div 8 of the Sunday League once who was about 6ft 5....shall we go and get him!!
If come the 1st of Feb we have signed no one then start having a pop but having a moan 5 days into the window just cos another club have signed some guy with 4 goals to his name playing well below the football league is just silly.

We signed a player on a similar basis, Terrell Lewis.
And we can't force "dead wood" (as you call it) on other teams.
I'll stick my neck out and say one or two of our players who are out or have been out on loan recently won't be available for selection come Feb 1st.

Currie loan ends on 9th January, we've not said for definate he's back but the lack of comment about the Daggers taking over his contract (always a long shot) indicates a deal can't be done

Didnt the annoucement say when he left say that the loan deal was ahead of a permanent move suggesting it had been done and dusted then?

It did say there was an agreement, yet an interview with Sheridan expressed it as more a hope they would take over his contract.
I personally never believed the Daggers would go through with such a deal

I thought the wording was "...with a view to a permanent move..."
The wording on the OS state "...his current loan expires 9th Jan."
Am I reading betwen the lines too much?
I really can't see D+R smashing their wage structure to high heaven to sign Currie on similar terms to his existing deal here so either he'd be looking for a settlement from us, meaning he may take a lower wage there or he'll come back here and be a bit part player again.

Daggers Player
My Player subscription has lapsed, what did Currie say ? seems to be these out of transfer window agreements aren't worth the paper they are written on (or not written on as the case may be)

Thats careless
Well in a nut shell he thanks John Sheridan & Barrei Hubbard for agreeing to the deal for him to team up with John Still and looking forward to moving down south after sorting his house out in Sheff also "permanent move" is mentioned several times

Not careless just being tight, careless is not nailing the Daggers down to a deal, the wording here is clear enough

There once was a striker named O'Flynn
Who was wiry and weak and so thin
He signed for the Cobblers
Got kicked, joined the hobblers
And took to the tonic and Sloe Gin... boom boom!
