I haven't read the report, but were they subject to the same type of abuse or in those cases are they referring to the disgusting practice of female genital mutilation, another issue that has been swept under the carpet for too long.

I just listened to a documentary on BBC World Service on the way back from football. A Sunday Times journo has been investigating Rotherham abuse for years and says the abusers are almost all Mirpuris. That explains a lot. Mirpur (in the part of Kashmir occupied by Pakistan)is one of the world's great **** holes and, as for Mirpuris......let's just say I am not in the slightest bit surprised.

When Sharon Shoesmith, the head of Childrens' Services in Haringey was sacked over the Baby 'P' affair, I predicted she would end up with a multi-million pound pay-off. I was right.

Here's another prediction. The head of Rotherham Social Services, Joyce Thacker will eventually resign/be sacked and she will also end up with a multi-million pound pay-off.

I expressed a sentiment, a sound one as it turned out, that highly paid employees in the public sector, get handed hundreds of thousands of pounds from the tax payer for incompetence. The amount she was eventually awarded does not detract from the principle.

Joyce Thacker, whose actions in Rotherham have been the subject of some politically motivated approval on this thread could quite likely become another.
