I already pay for Sky Sports and can't afford £27 a month to add BT Sport.
Realistically what would I get for my £40 annual fee if I joined Spireites Digital ?

I get the BT Sport app for 2 quid a month with my Plusnet broadband, and have had a 6-month free trial in the past with EE, so your mobile or broadband provider might have special offers. I think there may now be means of casting it to a TV, which they used to restrict.
These go to eleven.

Thanks but I have everything with Sky and my contract does not expire until next March and I don't want to pay penalties.
Would be grateful if anyone could advise their experience of Spireite Digital.

Match highlights, video interviews, live commentary. Works ok.

I have had Spireites Player/iFollow/Spireits Digital since its conception and the quality has fluctuated throught that period. It was essential as an exile but now I'm not, it is a luxury.

One possible negative this year is uncertainty over the live match day commentary. For the last few years Peak have streamed their coverage via Spireites Player/iFollow now rebranded as Spiteites Digital and to be honest the coverage was better then when the club volenteers used to do homespun coverage (as you would expect). Another unknown is how good the comms are at all non league grounds, I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Another interesting thing will be the quality of the highlights. Recently they have been standard 10 minute extended highlights which were quite decent. They seem to be edited centrally by a production company rather than the club, will this change? In addition there are various features and interviews which are produced by the club, so the quantity and quality will be down to the effort the club puts into it. A couple of years ago there were extra highlights produced covering the game from a different angle, behind the away end goal at home games and pitch level at away games. These added great value to the package and it is a shame the club discontinued them.

All in all I would say it was worthwhile especially with the lack of alternatives but with the above comments as caveats. We'll see once the season commences.

In my recent experience their technical support are poor. Despite paying the subscription I cannot get access to the videos. I have contacted them twice in the last three days and have been told I will receive a call back the same day but never have.

Spireite digital will only be of benefit if you want to listen to the commentaries really, its the only thing i use it for because i live in Manchester. I pay for BT sport as part of my Plusnet TV package after cancelling my sky sub a couple of years back and then I get other sports channels via other dubious means as mentioned above.
Why can't you support my gibberish? I'd do it if you were stupid.

Never had much luck with sport via kodi but we’ve got Sky Sports and use Bt sport app with brother in laws login and you can use a google Chromecast to show it on the telly.

I use Kodi all the time for tv shows and films but i seem to find live sport seems to buffer quite a lot. Some days/channels seem better than others but never managed to get it totally buffer free as yet.

I use an IPTV provider to get all the sky channels etc, it has all the sky sports channels, BT sports channels and a load of american sports channels. it costs less than a £10 a month and you can set it up to run through Kodi or use an IPTV app to view your channels. sometimes the channels do go down or buffer a bit but they are so much better than using a kodi addon.

Depends if you want to watch decent highlights rather than 30 seconds worth on BT Sport doesn't it?
