I’ve now just started assuming he is unless anyone says otherwise.

Forgot he played for us again. Probably worth just using him as a coach more than anything, he's finished as a player.

No such thing as luck;-)

Usually poor rehab of prior injuries or imbalances that go unrecognised or ignored.

Some complete dick in a Man U shirt kicked my hand clean through and shattered it when I was playing in goal and went for the ball. If that was not bad luck, what was it?
These go to eleven.

Do the hard ground conditions contribute in any way ?

Presumably one way to avoid hamstring injuries would be to not play the game? I’ve not had one since I hung up my Sunday League boots over 35 years ago.

Wish I had been. They wouldn't have been as reckless. I was playing for Kickabout VIII .
These go to eleven.

Injuries are either extrinsic or intrinsic.
Intrinsic are down to factors like conditioning and fatigue etc and can generally be avoided with planning, training etc.

Extrinsic are sometimes unavoidable of course.
(Although some people I know will even argue against this)!! - for example - was you hand conditioned enough to withstand the nature of the game? Could you have been better prepared to react quicker in the situation etc.... (if you get my drift)!?

Soft tissue injuries like hamstring strains are never down to bad luck though

Thanks for explaining your meaning. Self-abuse jokes aside, I'm not sure how much better-conditioned my hand could have been- it was in a glove, I went for the ball, some careless tool decided to kick through the ball full-force at the same moment..... bad luck. It happens. Not sure how many of Drew's injuries have been bad luck in the same manner.
These go to eleven.

I don't think its anything to do with rehab, I'd say it's his running style that causes it and the older he gets the more his style hampers him
ITS NOT THE WINNING,ITS THE TAKING APART

You've omitted the third type and the most common during a game the "contric".
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Never the twain shall meet.
