CF signed 2 year deal. Was at Grantham, has recently been on trial at Lincoln, including their pre season training in Spain.

Good evening.

Tonight we have signed a 24-year-old centre-forward called Lee Shaw, who this morning was in a factory at 6am to pack boxes.

He has signed a two-year deal with a one-year option, subject to the paperwork going through.

We chose a hungry, young man, on his way up, rather than a seen it, done it, bought the t-shirt type, who would have been just coming here to pick up his last pay packet and cruise in third gear.

He’s got an excellent goal ratio, a great attitude and he’s chosen us ahead of a decent Football League club.

We’ve got a player who matches our desire and drive to be successful in the future and not gloat about his past

He was at Jamie Vardy's academy in June, not sure whether that was a trial for it or he was a formal member though.

Good player is Shawy, doesn’t get bullied by defenders and knows where the net is with a turn of pace when needed. I reckon with the right supply he should net you twenty goals.

Like MA's dig about a striker who's hungry, not a striker who just wants to pick up a pay cheque and gloat about his past. Wonder who he could mean, he he he :}

Now that would be a good signing if he was as good as Hursty.

Well that's more like it, at least we're not at panic stations for a striker now, another and a winger and that'd be perfect.

Let's hope some of the want aways go soon

Gives us more time to look at the trialists now without panicking

I thought similar with Ross Hannah when he was banging in the goals for you thinking he could make the step up to league level but it wasn't to be, now at tomorrow's opponents Gainsborough.

I'd expect the lad has a lot of work to put in to reach the required fitness level of a full timer.

Makes you wonder if MA has also considered Jacob Hazel who banged in even more goals last season at the same level
