Three tickets purchased, despite the website's repeated failure to process my purchase. I hope the difficulties the club are presenting in buying tickets online doesn't cost Tommy too many attendees.

Anyone who has purchased either of the hospitality options should be receiving an email today with details about tickets/car parking/arrival time.

Personally think the idea of testimonials are from and for another era and think they should be phased out completely (but if anyone deserves one Tommy Lee does)!

In the current climate of football where players on average are at clubs for no more than 2 seasons if a player has done 10 seasons at one club that should be both commended and celebrated.
"Do you think I'm here for your amusement" & good riddance to bad rubbish

Tickets sales online look to be really poor? Is nobody bothering? Such a shame if there’s a poor crowd for this. Tommy deserves a good send off after the career he’s had here

The 132-page @tommyeddylee Testimonial Brochure, launched to great acclaim last Friday, will be on sale at the Club Superstore when it opens on Monday morning at 10am. Just £10 (cash please) to read all about the life and career of a @ChesterfieldFC legend.

The Former Players' Association launch is SOLD OUT, with 50 fans and 50 ex-players in the Brampton Brewery 1866 Lounge. There will be over 170 diners in the SBK Computers Spires Restaurant and about 60 people will able to enjoy a drink or two in the National Windscreens Vice President's Suite. Great turn out! Now it's down to YOU to make sure you've got a ticket for the match, it's only a tenner for adults and half price or less for older and younger fans, so get those turnstiles clicking to ensure Tommy Lee gets the send of he deserves - and there's a little possibility that he may just play a little bit, that's not to be missed! Come on, you know you want to!

Totally agree - 10 years at one club for a footballer is amazing now days and should be acknowledged.
Show class, have pride, and display character. If you do, winning takes care of itself.

For players at the top level it is a joke which is why most there have become charity events.

Although Tommy might have earned more than most of us his loyalty and longevity is clear to see. He also was forced to retire at least six seasons before it might have been expected due to damage suffered playing the game.

As he has agreed to support the Former Players Association and cancer charities as part of the events, it is clear that this is more a celebration than a case of money grabbing.

Because I know Tommy and realise he has the ability and intelligence to continue to work in football, I don't think he will be without employment for long. However I do not begrudge him this final fitting sent-off. I will be working to support the event in the lounges on Wednesday.

Tommy Lee’s testimonial match, Chesterfield v Paul Cook’s Wigan Athletic XI, kicks off at 7pm on Wednesday at the Proact - the only opportunity to see Martin Allen’s Spireites at home before the season starts for real.

Tickets are available online here and at the Club Superstore, with prices set at £10 adults, £5 for over-65s and £3 for under-16s.

It’s an opportunity to say ‘farewell’ to the ten-season, 373 first-team appearance legend, who was forced to retire due to a shoulder injury last autumn in his tenth season at the club. We do expect Tommy to make a cameo appearance, so be on time so as not to miss it! There will be special offers in the concourses up to 6.30pm - gates open at 5.30pm - and if you’ve not yet sampled Brampton Brewery’s superb TestimoniALE, specially brewed for the celebrations, it will be available on the concourses and in the lounges.

The 132-page brochure commemorating Tommy’s life and career went down extremely well at last week’s launch and it is available in the Club Superstore now as well as at the match. From 4pm on Tuesday, there will also be a free downloadable eZine of around 14 pages to complement the match, so watch out for further details.

The match will also serve as the launch of the Chesterfield FC Former Players’ Association and around 50 ex-Spireites will be attending the game and they will be introduced to the crowd at half-time. The up-to-date list is below, but this is subject to change if their commitments change:

Obviously the match v Wigan Athletic is the centre-piece of Tommy's testimonial activities. A 132 page souvenir brochure, priced at £10, has been produced and, is already, proving very popular and is currently available in the club shop during normal opening hours. and, of course, on match day.

However, not everything is about making money. Tommy has been so thrilled with the response from supporters that the Testimonial committee have produced the first ever Chesterfield FC on-line programme (e-zine) that will be available free to view pre and post-match as a "Thank you" to every Chesterfield fan for the loyal support over his ten years at the club and during the testimonial events that have already taken place.

The on-line programme will be available to view from 4pm on Tuesday 24 July via the testimonial website

https://www.tltestimonial.com

We hope everyone enjoys reading a real first for the football club - offered as a genuine "Thank you" to the fantastic fans who have been so supportive throughout Tommy's ten years at the club.

Whilst there is no charge we welcome fans to donate to the charity that we will be promoting at the game......We will be supporting Martin Allen's wife, Lisa, who has been fundraising for Cancer Research and last Saturday swam in the annual Club (Henley Rowing Club) to the Angel on the Bridge. Up to a few days ago over £2,000 had been raised - let's see if we can blow that figure out of the water after such a heroic effort. Feel free to donate on the night or via the link below

I suspect plenty will roll up on the night but don’t forget it’s the first week of the school holidays so plenty will be away.

With all the doom and gloom around it is a great chance to support Tommy and say a proper good bye to him (with his career) I'm sure he will be back. Also to say thanks to Cook for the near yet so far glimpse of the promised land. Lastly to support our new manager so if you can make it would be a good time to do so.
