It's now time for us to put offers in. Morsy will go, rest assured. Allen's got some money back , the debt's down, if it isn't someone wants to give an explanation - now it's our turn. In Saunders I trust - Let's support these guys!!

Not sure we can claim credit for producing them, Darikwa aside. Perhaps developing them??

I'd call it a Chesterfield team of 2014/15 that set league 1 alight.... Quickly extinguished and not to be emulated for many years.

When I first started watching Chesterfield (1986), it was rare for a player to leave us and play for another league club, never mind a club in a higher division! I can remember Bob Bloomer going to Bristol Rovers and - I think - Darren Wood went to Northampton but apart from that, not many at all in that period.

Close to 4mil coming in. With the 70/30 figures given I'd say around 900k to spend on new recruits. I'm still hopeful that there will be quality out there ready to bolster our diminishing squad!

Do really think 900K will be added to the current budget?

Even if that money was spread over the length of the contracts it would take the annual budget well over 2M using the much published current budget

Impressive figures. I hear we have reduced the debt by about £5.75p but still need gates of 10,300 to to break even. I can see the fans queuing for miles to get in and watch a former playoff winning team now totally disembowelled! Should be a great season......

tony brien went to rotherham with nicky law coming the other way I think we got a few quid on top. Good deal that. Did tony coyle got to stockport after us?

You are right though, almost all our ex players went non league in the late 80s early 90s. I remember being excited when dyche broke through and there were rumours of him going to palace. It was almlost unheard of for 1 of our players to go higher, and that didnt happen either.

Its great we are getting lots of good players i hope it can continue.

Was Kevin Davies the first big one? I mean that in the sense of moving to a top flight club. The lack of sell on clause still brings me to tears

Danny Wilson? Alan Birch? Both went up the divisions for decent fees. (£177500 received from wolves for Birch before anyone jumps in)

I suppose Davies' transfer to Southampton was the first one I can actually remember taking place since I began watching town in the late 80's. I remember it being a big thing at the time but also an air of disappointment that he ended up at 'only' Southampton.
