I seem to recall DA saying after the season when we were last relegated, that he had Learned his lesson, and that nobody (staff) were going on holiday until the team had been sorted for the upcoming season! So that the club would never be chasing the last available players!

Oh dear.

I'm afraid DA changes his tack more than his pigeons

How confident are we that we will be signing the required five match-ready League One standard players?

Saunders will either be wondering why he took this job or if he believes in his own abilities keen to get more money spent than any CFC manager in history.

I'm deadly confident (now I've just had a few sniffs with beezle)

not sure if Ashley can say that

whilst I don't get the negativity before we have signed many and before a ball has been kicked, we simply do not know whether we will be weaker than last season or not, whatever players we sign - proof will be in the pudding and all that

Weaker than when, Ashley? Now, after all the sales?
How can anyone claim the side we'll start the season with will be stronger than the one which finished last season? We'd have to sign three or four top-class League One performers in a week and a half, and this ain't a Football Manager reality. Unless, I suppose, one SEB=Darikwa+Clucas+Ryan+Roberts.

Never mind the fans have never had it so good - the board must be rubbing their hands together - 3m in sales, record crowds, record season ticket sales etc. Yet still none of them apart from Allen will put any money in

Not to late to start team building then?

It's not ideal but not too late, we can still get 4 or 5 decent players in before end of August.

If Drew is fit our starting XI a week on Saturday (at best) is something like...

Lee

Talbot
Evatt
Hird/Raglan
Jones

Ariyibi
Morsy
One of Onovwigun/Banks/Hird
O'Shea

SEB
Armand

I wouldn't be overly confident in League Two with that.

Well at senior dinner on mon DS said I knew some team members may leave and he got his eye on some players who are still available so let's see he is true to his word Let's give him a chance

We are getting a reputation for developing players, improving them and getting them lucrative moves to the championship. Next time we're competing to sign a player we will be in a favourable position as they will see how well Eoin Doyle, Liam Cooper, Sam Clucas etc have done out of their spells here. Can't do our recruitment prospects any harm

We had a reputation, we have a complete new management in now with a different philosophy, we could easily have a reputation as being without any ambition.

Everyone's having a go at DA pocketing money....

If i'd put 8m of my own money in and not seen a good return in 3 years then I would want to pocket as much of this 3 million as I could

He's a business man but it is also HIS money that got us here in the first place

He's also not daft and has learnt his lesson he'll make sure DS gets what he needs to sustain our league position but at the same time recoup his money back

If I was you, with your £8M, and you told me you expected a return on investing in a football club, I would say, don't be a fool, keep it in the bank, or find a safer growth investment.

I think you have missed the point of being a football chairman.
None (with any sense) go into it thinking they won't lose a wad of money.
It's purely an ego or power thing.
You think Mike Ashley bought Newcastle to add to his bank balance?

I often wonder why football club owners do it, and for people with money it might have a social/status aspect.

The chance to entertain and be entertained by other like-minded people, sometimes mixing with famous ex-players, managers and minor celebs.

I can imagine it's difficult to walk away from.
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

So, bearing in mind that DA got 10 acres for nowt, is getting a good interest rate on his loans, sees the book value of his shares rise every time some of the debt is paid off, has a thriving banqueting business, and has consumer backing for his primary product, where do you think he has missed the boat?.

Have you evidence that he puts loads of Wonga in that he has lost for ever?.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Not right that though DV.
Repaying debt doesn't increase the value off his shares - but I agree, profit does. Except previous years losses have to be plugged first. The issued share capital of £5M was offset by accumulated losses on the last balance sheet of £3.3M. We have ben told that we need sales just to cover running costs, so although the recent player sales cash will go a long way, they won't be enough alone to be allocated 100% to repay debt. Plus, one asks, where is the evidence of a thriving banqueting business- in view of the losses posted by the club in recent years.

Then who is to say what the completed ground and the facilities are worth? They can only be used by a football club, and there is only one football club who would want to use the ground. I would wager they are worth less than the book value of £13M.

I thought you were a big fan of his?
I'm sure he would have done better buying another casino though financially

Relegation because a right back has gone?
But over reaction there.
He improved a lot but is no real loss - Talbot is the better player (in my opinion-just needs to stay injury free).

Shame it was Burnley and not Preston though - Burnley are a horrible little (massive) club

LOLZ. A semi-crocked 30 year old better than Tendayi.

You couldnt make this cr*p up.

Thanks. I'm no accountant.
So, how much would DA have to sell for, in order to break even?.
