49 Years ago today WE won the World Cup ( England that is )
Like Peter Kay's Grandad's( or was it his Dad's ?? ) Garlic Bread it wont happen again ... in my lifetime

I had to be sat down from about 9am to get a good seat in the room
Couldnt do it now
Ps went back to the same camp site 8 years later and remembered it was the same TV

I do believe that not that many householdsowned a TV set in 69.
My Step Father once told me their family was the only house on the street with one at that time and every one off said street came round to watch the game. Think his Father worked for the electric board and that's why they had one.

In 1969 it was very rare to own a colour tv but black and white ones were very common
Probably the same as owning an ultra HD 4k tv today as opposed to a normal HD one
The world cup final was in 66 when owing a black and white TV was fairly common

Even if you had a tele then you wouldn't have seen it the final was 66. You got your mind on other things😀
