Just seen it on Granada news basically helping key Davies find a new club as now out of contract. He's 38 now but just helped preston gain promotion. Could he still do a job for us, I think he would be a great squad member who gets a few full starts next season and a great player to have on the bench.

Think this was done to death before but we need players who are pushing to get a start week after week not someone to sit on the bench. Sorry but as much as Kev is a legend I don't see him as what we want now.

I do like nostalgia, but not that much

We already have our Senior Pro / Role Model / Do a job occasionally player in Humphreys and I don't think there is room in the budget for another

There is!

But only if he is prepared to be on the same rate of pay as Humphreys.

If he came and played for free then it would be worth considering.

If the club think such a signing would excite the fans they would probably be wrong

One of my favourite past player. I'd have loved to see him sign last year he would have made a good contribution to a great season. But don't think this is type of player we need unless he wants to see it off where it all started and on minimum wages. Just hope deano signs some good young/ish players n not ones that are just doing the rounds

Ignoring the Kevin Davies kite flying, one can't help thinking the club ought to let us decide whether new signings excite us or not. Moreover, a lot of us will be waiting to see how any new signings fit in and play before being 'excited'.

Some of our best signings have come in under the radar, and some of the most high profile have been the biggest failures.

Exactly. Peterborough appear to try to pick up and coming lower league/non league players starring for their clubs, pay a fee enough to secure their services and very often sell them on for a greater sum. Doesn't always work, but at least possible with younger players; very unlikely with the likes of SEB.

The mention of Davies and Thomas is a bit scary, like we have found some extra cash and will squander it on ageing ex PL players because "excited" fans will come flocking to the Proact. Let's not go down this road, town.

A couple of players of the Jack Lester calibre would do the trick

32 played his entire career in the Prem bar a season in the Chapionship, about a year older, and presumably more talented, than Gary Roberts. At Palace last season but couldn't get in the team. As for his being a crock, I cannot comment as, unlike Goku, I haven't had the chance to inspect his medical records
