Was a decent day out last year, went via York on cheap train tickets. Will consider it again if the weather is decent

Am I missing something? Surely Hartlepool is up for most people?

Hartlepool away on Saturday 1st August.

interesting this one, with season starting following Saturday, I would imagine this will be the final game of preseason. saunders said in his interview that he hopes to bring a prem club to proact pre season, who do we think? stoke maybe? was he team meates with hughes during his wales days?

Latest list

Matlock Tuesday 14th July
Clipstone Thursday 16th July
Staveley Friday 24th July
Retford Saturday 25th July
Ilkeston Tuesday 28th July
Belper Wednesday 29th July
Hartlepool Saturday 1st August

Obviously more to come, with at least one home game to be announced, I hear that Hull is a possibility.

We report back for training on 1st July so, with the games above there is a fortnight before the first game. I wouldn't be surprised if we fitted one in on the Saturday (11th) but the new manager may have different ideas. Wonder if he will fancy the Portugal trip this year or if the rumoured trip to Ireland may still be on - there is a full week (17th - 23rd July) with no games at the moment so there is room in the schedule.

I've not heard of any development squad games as yet, I'm sure there will be some interesting ones, YT as well, although theirs tend to be during the daytime and against other league clubs' YTs and are therefore less appealing to me.

Interesting that New Mills have asked us for a game, amongst others

Pre-season friendlies have been requested (so far) from Barnsley, Sheffield United and Wednesday, Derby County, Port Vale, Tranmere Rovers, Macclesfield Town, Oldham Athletic, Rochdale, Stockport County, and Crewe Alexandra and Chesterfield. The only response so far is from the Tranmere Rovers football secretary who has agreed to pass it on to his managerial team.

Nothing announced but NM is a very friendly little club and I'd love to see us play there

Still no Saturday first team games apart from Hartlepool. So at least 2 maybe 3 slots to fill.

Didn't he also say there were two more home games? Perhaps the Galatasaray rumour is true after all

Today's non league paper lists a Chesterfield XI as playing at Coventry Sphinx on Monday 27th July. I've had a look at their website but it isn't mentioned there. Interesting.

The game is on their website after all, well hidden!

Latest list
Buxton Friday 11th July
Matlock Tuesday 14th July
Clipstone Thursday 16th July
Hull City (home) Tuesday 21st July
Staveley Friday 24th July
Retford Saturday 25th July
Coventry Sphinx Monday July 28th
Ilkeston Tuesday 28th July

Hartlepool Saturday 1st August

I'm sure there are more to come. July is looking an expensive month  only Clipstone and Cov that I haven't seen town on, not sure we've played either before. The Cov game is an oddity, the most random game since we played at oadby town?

EDIT
Just as I typed that I found another one, at Buxton on Friday 11th
