Wondered why he hadn't acknowledged the travelling fans at the end, the players did but JR was nowhere to be seen.
The pitch was atrocious against the Shots, I must say , I was really peed off with the groundsmen at the state of the pitch. (Anthony would never had produced a crap surface like that).

Anthony probably would if they were training on it 3 days a week

The groundsman is hardly to blame if two other teams play on it, and it is used three days a week for training.
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

Where was Grimes mentioned by me?

You didn't mention Grimes by name but you responded to the question posted of " Penny for Grimes's thoughts" with "is he deeply intertwined in this"

Anyway, don't worry about it mate. It's just me wondering whether or not to make Grimes's issues allegedly accusation number 8 or whatever number I'm up to.

Be good to get some clarity on everything. I have to say I was gutted when Tom Whelan left. He had time out for a bereavement and when he came back he seemed oddly out of favour and then he obviously left

For what it's worth I agree it was strange, particularly the timing. As I remember it Whelan went to the funeral and drove all the way down south somewhere (can't remember where) to join the squad late, and was named on the bench. He came on with not long left, if I remember rightly. Post-match Rowe was full of praise for his commitment in driving all the way down himself, after the funeral...and then pretty much fell out of favour more or less immediately?

Aren't Colchester still looking for a new boss?

I was led to believe at the time and it was a decent source to get it from it was more to do with his spell out after being sent off that dragged on for a number of weeks with it being 3 games and a couple being off in that spell. Issues with fitness and how he was doing things off the field led to Rowe not trusting him and he was gone from that point.

Aye, can believe that. He never seemed fit enough, blowing out of his bottom early doors and often hooked.

He was part time prior to joining us though wasn't he? Could be wrong but I thought he was. A pre season with us and I think he'd have been valuable this season.

1 . Had to be held back by a player on the bus back from Maidenhead. (Dropped said player next match.)
2 Walkinking into accounts and demanding his bonus for progressing in the FA Cup
.
3 Fallouts with the groundman, over the pitch, blamed the groundsman although the groundsman blamed JR for training 3 days a week at CFC as he didn't want to keep training at Hasland.

That’s the obvious pull but would you move to work directly for a manager who is so disliked by so many in your industry?
Not only work for them but have to either relocate or endure a long commute a few times a week for the privilege?

I suppose you might for a kings ransom but I doubt we’re talking that kind of money.

Be careful with that sensible type of post

James Rowe strikes me as someone who has his favourites and if you get on the wrong side of him you are done. See any number of players who disappeared without a trace since he took over.
The constant transfers can be seen in a different light now.

I believe some of their fans are still looking for their (new) ground

Yes he resigned when his side were top of the league and was forced to take a position with a club in a lower division.
