Basically some nutter in the middle east trying to get involved. He hasn't because he hasn't got any money.

Sadly these are the pitfalls of sourcing finance from these "sheik" types.

Honestly though, looking at Cardiff / Leeds etc, would anyone really want one of these "eccentric" foreign owners?

its madness, what next some pigeon fancier masquerading as a casino and dog track owner. :windup

No. Our resident detective is in touch with the club.

I trust D A to do the best for the club and probably didn't know what as going on. As for Turner you have to question his integrity and common sense

The second maybe, not the first.

On one hand I'm pleased CFC are actually open to opportunities, as opposed to the plodding insularity witnessed at Saltergate.

However it does disturb me that it's taken fans to expose this 'fake Sheikh' whilst an extremely well salaried CEO appeared happy to embrace him.

Perhaps the prospect of further, no doubt all expenses paid trips to Kuwait acted as a blindfold.

And how much has it cost Town in terms of hospitality and overheads? Why weren't the same kind of straightforward checks undertaken by 'Bob's Board' members carried out by Turner some months ago? Exactly what sort of relationship did he have with this Alnassar?

Either way I think 'Freelander' deserves an enormous amount of credit for pursuing this issue - and perhaps averting greater losses or embarrassment, as does 'Sammy' and Craig for their input, too.

Odd bloke. Odd episode. I wonder if it was him who came up with the idea that we should stop playing Johnson four games too soon, so the team could get ready for 'life without him'.

Well done to Freelander and all involved though. A career in forensics (accounting) awaits.

I think he believed what turner was telling him until he found out the truth. I seriously believe it is time DA moved turner out of the club. There has to be better qualified CEO's than this plonker

on a serious note looking at his name pulls up lots of links ,notably a "tonys soccer school" which he is linked with. (the tony being tony calver who is or was supposedly an ajax coach though you cannot find a single link to the name and ajax). If you go on their facebook page it brings up hundreds of trials at different clubs and its amazing how many impressionable gullible foreigners are asking about the said trials,i presume and its only presumption that money changes hands as these people believe they are good enough only to be probably exploited,it would be interesting to dig a little deeper,im pretty sure tony does not do it for the love of the game.

Been following this with interest over the past few days since the initial concerns were raised just to see if I could help with anything but it seems you've managed quite well without my help lol....heard something on the radio tonight travelling home from work that the club had stated there was to be no take over from certain Middle Eastern parties.. Not sure of the exact wording of the statement. Well done you guys anyway for exposing this character.

I really hope the club have not been scammed here, all the signs point to it but surely successful businessmen and CEOs of multi-million pound companies wouldn't be taken in by such charlatans... would they?

Surely they're not that gullible???

Not so sure about "fake Sheik". Many companies/people who do business in the Middle East get approached by "middlemen" who either claim, they have access to a rich guy who wants to invest, or they have a business proposal. If you bite they then go to contacts in the Middle East and say they can deliver a person/company who has money to invest. Not so much a scam as an attempt to obtain fees at both ends of the business deal. Bit like football agents really. CT has very little business experience in this country never mind the Middle East.If he wants to prospect there he should hire the proper people to set up meetings.

not just CT taken in at the club by the looks of posts on here (this bloke being a guest at games)

happy for us to look for investment, but surely we have to be checking into people before getting what seems to be quite far into the process?

I mean if people on here can cast doubt on a persons credentials by using matters of public record and twitter surely someone at the club should have done so

Also, did CTs jaunt to Kuwait cost the club anything?

I really don't like the bloke. Every time I've listened to him he's come across as somebody who doesn't have a clue what he's talking about and now he's off gallivanting to the middle east, no doubt using the club's money to talk to con artists. Oh and let's not mention the stupid attendance prediction for last season and the player bonuses including 20k to each player (within reason) for promotion. If he wasn't Dave Allen's pal he'd have been sacked ages ago.
