One of the early favourites at 10/1 for the Pompey job. Didn't he sign a long contract recently?

It's probably a little to far away from family I'd have thought.

And the Brampton mile

Doesn't strike me as the kind of person who would want to move so far south, although I'm sure he could get your rag tag sorted and playing the beautiful game in no time.

Regarding his future at chesterfield he said at fans forum on thursday night that he cannot preach loyalty to fans and then just jump ship himself when another job offer comes along during his contract

As nice as it is to hear that, it didn't bother him at accrington.

Not sure you can offer anything much better than he get elsewhere without having to move so far south.

Your not a big attractive club anymore so you best get used to it
A new hope.

Read somewhere that it would cost someone 250k to prise Cooky away. This seems like chicken feed compared to the detrimental effect it would have on our team and (probable) positive effect on whoever he joins.

Should dave Allen make anyone who was interested in cook pay up his back room staff too? So our new manager could have his own people

Judging by the (allegedly on here) size of the backroom staff, that would cost a fortune :)

Did he actually have a contract at Accy?

I can see Pompey's appeal. Get that right and a couple of promotions are possible.

The story at the time was that he didn't.

Surely now Pompy's debts are less perilous then that job is a peach. Huge crowds, decent wage budget, crap league. 6 easy points a season against crap sides like Accrington, Morcombe, Wimbledon, Dagenham.

Taking these past 2 seasons into account, and the points they've dropped, like us in the past against the teams you mention,I reckon that's the sort of comment a fan of the 'Massive' would make.
It's not that easy DMU. We should know that better than most.

I forgot about Mansfield too.

Personally I hated league 2 and I'm glad we're out. Pompy should be walking that league
