How do you know 'by all accounts' his attitude was wrong if nobody knows what may or may not have happened?

bump, for those that might be interested, from the Portsmouth forum....

Anyone that went yesterday care to say how the new boy played? Not seen his name banded about at all to be fair in reports from yesterday's game.

Didn't really get the love-in with Donohue. He was steady but frustrating - a jack of all trades.

No way he is going to stand out in a promotion chasing L1 side.

Since nobody knows why did you choose the Donohue departure to "reinforce your concerns"?
So you have a negative attitude to Caldwell; leave it at that.

Is attitude was all wrong.. many a time last season, after getting a few shouts from the east stand he came over and starting mouthing back.
At the Notts county game away this season at the final whistle when the lads came over to us one fan was giving him a bit of grief ( understandably) cos we were rammel
and he just started back givin it the large one... liked the lad but gud riddance to his attitude.....won't do nothing but be a bit part player...

Agreed I thought he was poor. In fact very poor. Can't believe anyone would pay money for him.

Fair enough, but...

..I first spoke to Dion when he was in the 'Donkey Derby' with his family last year. He didn't stand out or make any attempt to, just a young man having a meal with the folks. As he was on the next table to mine I told him, truthfully, that I thought he was doing well and just to keep on listening to the Manager (Wilson, at the time) and working hard. He was as humble as he was appreciative.

Dion's since tapped me on the shoulder a number of times, merely for a friendly conversation, proving a thoroughly honest and grounded lad. Certainly not the kind to seek confrontation (not doubting your word, mind) or, for that matter, a move away.

But when I asked him about Caldwell during what proved to be our last exchange he merely shrugged his shoulders and pulled a face.

As I've said before DD wasn't quite a left back, lacked the pace to be a winger and never really had the chance to secure the central berth he was signed to fill. But he always seemed to give his all wherever he played.

Dion Donahue has moved on as has CFC. I hope both benefit from those moves.

He came to us from a low level in the football pyramid, played exclusively in a poor team and has been sold to a team in a higher division. In the years I have followed Town, most players in that situation would have probably ended up at Goole. For that alone I like him, and I see no obvious reason to doubt his temperament. I wish him lots of luck in his career.

He was better more forward wide left from what I saw. Didn't impress in midfield when he had a chance albeit in a struggling side.

Oh well that clears that debate up then. He's turned into an amazing player overnight.

Certainly was worth more to us in this team than the pittance we no doubt got for him. Then again you can say that about countless others

He behaved like an idiot at Doncaster last night, getting a red card for a stupid off the ball incident, directly in front of the Donny bench and the lino. Pompey are struggling with injuries in defence. Now he was a three match ban. Footballers ought to be made to take an IQ test before being registered 😊

He certainly wasn't immune to red mist moments when here, if I recall correctly.
These go to eleven.

Eee, still don't enjoy seeing Walsall attempt to include a bemused Sam Hird in their celebrations. Weird one, that. Point made though...Donahue does seem to lose his temper now and then.

Any idea why that was overturned? Looked like he kicked out.
