dont argue with the keyboard warriors they know best , tommys different class to onion , hes got to be not fit or weve been told lies re his injury

No one's said he's better or as good as Tommy. You said he was too short. If someone disagrees with you or doesn't laugh at your jokes or gives you a little red mark, it doesn't necessarily make em a keyboard warrior, either.

Probably cost. We should have kept Stuckmann, at least he was good with pennos.

It's been said he had decided not to play in England this season

A lack of height hinders most keepers in modern football as the appalling flap that Anyon made as the ball floated over his head today demonstrates!

Tommys reactions are better, his shot stopping is better and his organization of the defence is better so obviously ability matters...

But so does height. In the words of Basil Fawlty to Manuel....please try to understand!

Its been bad enough wasting time and money watching that kak today without spending my evening splitting hairs with you!

I am now off to get (more) drunk! X

Would that be because we didn't offer him a contract ? It all boils down to money, we will not get quality keepers by offering peanuts, and Anyon was probably the only one who would accept the terms on offer.

What difference does offering Stuckmann a year make? He made it clear he was going back to Germany and didn't want to sign for another season.

With keepers its more about positioning, height helps yes, but if your positioning is good an you have quick feet, it gets you into the right place faster.

As much as I love Tommys keeping, remember him letting in 2 howlers at Barnet ( in diferent games ) an one was as bad an similar as the one seen today.

The Grimsby keeper looked a similar height but his position and handling was spot on. Ok it was only one game - and against us :D

Anyon is weak in the air and so was Lee but Anton did the business with his shot stopping

Sadly we have signed soneone who is as weak in the air as Lee but probably not as good at shot stopping

Only Caldwell could pull that one off

The past 12 months has been the worst period in my time watching town for goalkeeping cock ups and this includes the Abbey and Latheran periods. The defences confidence must be shot. And apparently we have a full time goalkeeping coach!!

And, his height isn't an issue.

The issues are that he has limp wrists and flaps at the ball and has lead weights in his boots which stops him from being able to get his feet off the ground. Please God give Tommy a speedy and full recovery.

Some of these comments are almost identical to the one leveled at Tommy when he first arrived. Was he not morcambes third keeper when we signed him?
