Is the reason for it not happening true? Gives them a season before the have to shift the season ticket holders if so. Sounds like another Fitzgerald/Chris Turner pigs ear

The reason? The electronic boards are bigger than the 'standard' and restrict the views of those sat immediately behind them.

This shouldn't be used as an excuse for not happening on time.

These boards have been around in the champions league and international competitions for a few years now, and you always see the next couple of rows behind them empty.

It's not like this should be a surprise to anyone involved in the project.

I've a feeling we can afford to have more than an odd row empty this season.

If true then that'll be more difficult than may be 1st apparent as that's where a lot of our disabled supporters sit. It's not just a case of move them to another seat, it depends on spaces being free for them

But surely its easy for them to move ST holders as they did it last season when they moved those from one lounge to another! (Leengate to Club and vice versa)

Imagine the fuss there would be if they did that in this climate especially if it involved moving disabled supporters (assuming there are enough spaces elsewhere. Probably best if they put the idea in the "too difficult" tray fo a while

I'm assuming some disabled supporters prefer to be at pitch level for a reason and will resist moving to where there's less action / contact with the players.

Where the disabled fans sit at the front at pitch level, they must be almost at eye level with the pitch surface.

The pitch side perimeter, (presumably they are to be installed where the current boards are now?), is lower than the pitch so, unless the new ones are much higher than the existing ones, it seems an odd reason for their non-appearance.

This reminds me of a thread right back when the stadium was built and a long gone poster was making a fuss reckoning all the concrete walls around the access ways to and from the stands were to tall and needed to be cut down so people could see....in that case said poster, like a lot of what he posted back then including the pitch wouldnt grow in time, turned out to be completely wrong!!

So am I right in thinking that in order for us to have these boards installed we've got to shoe horn rows of supporters from the first row into the rest of the ground, rip up the existing boards only to install these new (taller) boards aswell as getting an electrician to run any unsightly cables to the nearest plug socket before we can get a computer whizz to install a program into them so they can flash up an advert for the local corner shop. This is after we try to get companies advertising at the club again after all the "supposed" plug pullers have gone.

Sounds like too much fu**in hassle to be honest.
Wouldn't it be easier to install another scoreboard in the opposite corner and run different adverts on it?

Someone (on a banning order now after smacking a few Sheff United fans) told me half of them aren't working currently as the police only had only their handheld footage to try and stick on him.

How reliable his claim is I'm unsure.

Coming from someone who's been through this exact situation, it's true. It's been like this for about 3 years now.

Oh I'm confident that the board will be able to find a contractor who can do it for much more than that....
