Yes, twice - and found the money to go to home games

You get the £60 a week dole and any rent paid by housing benefit etc plus child benefits if you have kids - not too difficult to find £15 for something you have known about ages if you REALLY want to go, if money is tight it may not be a priority but anyone who REALLY wanted to go would have gone, price was fair and reducing the price wouldn't have meant massive crowds!

I didn't go! Spent the weekend at Tramlines!

The club can and do plenty wrong, e.g. not running buses to long away trips last season cos they'll make a small loss when they make loads of profits on the short journeys, I am far from a club apologist but with the ridiculous stuff on here recently someone needs to put people straight!

You still need to look up forecasting and how it is done!

Your ignorance is astounding.Dole what's dole? You only get unemployment benefit if you have worked the previous year and paid your stamp otherwise you get SFA then only for a year and the so called benefit advisors will do their best I hate you scu, impression. Try living on a one wage part time/zero hours income of around £500 a month for 2 adults and a child with a mortgage to pay and food and utility bills then tell me £15 is not too difficult to find

good post, agree to an extent on the marketing and it could be much better - this is true of the concerts as well - deals would have been good (doesn't change the fact that £15 is fair and that any deals probabloy wouldn't have increased the gate) and would be good through the season, kids for a quid etc etc is always a good idea and the club do not do this kind of thing enoughI have never suggested everyone should find the money, I have suggested they would if they really wanted to go, and they wouldMy situation is irrelevent but:Do you own your own house? NoDo you have a car? YesI know you don't have kids - TrueDo you have to travel far for work? bout 3 milesDo you have a woman/man to wine and dine? sometimes!
Only when he can find the footpump

With that income then £1 would be difficult to find so makes the whole 'more people would come if it was cheaper argument' irrelevant to anyone in those circumstances and there should be government help for anyone in that situation, I know people on low incomes can apply for working tax credits and other help, but as you say sometimes those supposed to help people get into proper work just label people as workshy

zero hours contracts are just wrong and shouldnt be allowed

however in this day and age £15 is a fair price for a friendly and making it cheaper would not make the crowd massive, and anyone who really wanted to go would have gone, all my points on the price still stand

I wouldn't have gone if it was fiver, I can't stand home friendlies, away one at little grounds I kind of enjoy, but unless it was a Real Madrid I wouldn't go to a home friendly.

I'm pretty much with you. The last home friendly I think I attended was Malaga at Saltergate. Or maybe Bolton if we played them a year or two after.

Are the pre season home games not a good way of helping the club raise money??

It's all about individual preference, I personally very much enjoyed Saturday and am looking forward to tomorrow night.

If you want to go, you'll go, if you aren't fussed I'm not sure a few quid off the ticket price is really going to sway you into going.

Depends, some clubs ask for an arrangement fee, especially the big clubs, no doubt we had to pay Leeds a nominal fee.

Not sure if it's been mentioned...Under 7s tickets in family areas of the ground are £2 for league games, for friendlies this doesn't apply and they are £7 (£8 if purchased online). This hasn't put me off as I want to go and I want to take my Son with me, but I can see how others may have been put off not only by the seemingly unnecessary increase when attracting new fans is of the utmost importance but the fact that it just doesn't seem 'right'. Difficult to justify the fact that it will cost the same (factoring in the lower adult price) to watch a competitive league game as it does to watch a friendly.
