Shows what we're up against - also seems that Donny are in a far worse position than us
Not sure if I feel better or worse reading this, but thought it was interesting

Some squads look strong but I think I'll use the phrase, "never heard of them" to describe most
I think we can assume they are generally stronger than what we encountered last
I guess we will find out soon enough

not really, takeover fell through and they have had to scrap a projected 5m budget in favour of one about the size of ours. Their problem is that the few remaining players they have under contract are on championship wages and there is no money available to sign any more to fill the teamsheet

Just shows the difference in funding between the championship and the bottom two leagues.

Ultimately it is that though isn't it? John Ryan a few years ago said enough is enough, I have lost enough money - someone else will have to start helping with the funding. Step forward some mystery Irish investors, who, as you say, have evaporated for one reason or another.

I think Ryan's business empire has gone belly up and his joint takeover with the boy band member was rejected by the FL due to lack of capital. Don't think he has the financial clout anymore.
They tried to raise £2M from individual pledges but got nowhere near. Don't think the FL too happy with this business plan Just goes to show how self made men's luck can run out.
The FL are starting to flex their muscle when it comes to club takeovers, not before time too.

Orient for one haven't lost really any of their top players.
That will be a test and a half on day one.

If the game was to be based on financial backing, it would be a walkover for our hosts. In the words of Barry Hearn, 'the old stingy BH has gone (he helped fund losses of £2M per year in recent years) and the new extremely wealthy Francesco Becchetti has taken over'. To be hoped the appointment of the new sporting director there starts to upset the equilibrium just as we arrive in the capital.

Goalkeeper - We don't have a single one at the club.
Defence - Rob Jones (injured) Jamie Mcoombe (injured) Paul Quinn (Dickov says won't be here for the start of the season) James Husband, Luke McCullough
Midfield - Richie Wellens (Dickov and Wellens both say they won't be here for start of season) Marc De Val, Dean Furman, Harry Forrester, Kyle Bennett
Attack - Theo Robinson, Alex Peterson (never played a professional game)
To add to this, Dickov today said his budget allows for "a couple of signings"
Rest will have to be made up from our youth team, as stated by Dickov as well.
I'm gutted. Everything we have built up since the Conference days has been drunk away during one pre season.
