Just a gentle reminder about the Memorial Garden meeting, Thurs 30 Jan at 7pm in Legands Lounge - free entry. Here's a bit more info / audio about it.

Yes a fair few - no good at estimating numbers but son.t think there were any empty tables. British legion there, and relatives of a player who died in the first world war . Legion suggested having a small remembrance day memorial each year, and also linking the soldiers memorials with the education centre in the community stand - excellent opportunity to bring the significance home to kids. Think its a lovely idea to have somewhere to remember loved ones associated with good memories of them .

Really pleased with the turnout at the meeting tonight on a horrible evening - I'd guess around 75 people all told.

If you would like to donate please text GARD02 £1 / GARD02 £2 / GARD02 £3 / GARD02 £4 / GARD02 £5 / GARD02 £10 to 70070.

Target is £35,000.

Thanks

Phil

Phil please do not let help the heroes anywhere near it. Go for the British legion or the wings appeal (or similar)

Are you planning to have a "proper" JustGiving webpage as well, Phil? I did a search but it didn't turn anything up

I reckon you would get more donations via that, rather than those text codes that not everybody likes.

No it is a a garden for the fans to be remembered and to remember loved ones and Saltergate. Part of the south end of the garden will contain a memorial to the 14 Spireite players and one manager killed serving our country.

Not yet Bluebelle - Cheques payable to Chesterfield FC Supporters Club and handed in to Club Superstore would be great.

Thanks

Remember there is a bucket collection for the Memorial Garden at the game tomorrow.

We have a start date and expect to officially open to mark the centenary of the Great War starting.

What we just need to do is pay for it! Please dig deep.

You can also donate by phone- text gard02 and your required amount to 70070.

I hope the Royal Box Wembley 4 have volunteered their services.
