I’ve never seen a professional footballer spend more time on their backside in a game than Gerry taggert, when Davies tore him apart away at Bolton in the cup run

I always thought how surprisingly quick Kev was without looking it. In the Bolton game he ran with the ball half the length of the field at what looked like a gentle trot, but the Bolton players in pursuit couldn't get near catching him.

The pitch was as heavy as lead and they were knackered .

But, wouldn't that analysis apply to every player on the pitch including Kev?

It certainly would but a heavy pitch means that stamina is also a massive part of the equation.

Being a teenage thruster at the time would certainly have helped!
