A huge Thankyou to Asante! But do you lads and lasses know the meaning of ASANTE in the East African language of Swahili? Yes it means Thankyou!
Although he’s a descendent of West Africa not East Africa!
So Thanks Asante!

How was he ever playing as low as National League North? From what I’ve seen, he’s comfortably good enough to influence games and score goals in the Football League?

Fitness. His injury record is pretty poor so we’ve got to keep him fit. If we do by all accounts he should be playing at a much higher level

Lets hope the Football League don't come calling too soon. We need to hang on to him until the inevitable happens eventually, if he keeps scoring and we keep winning.

It’s a head scratcher when you see his displays so far for us.
From what I’ve seen there aren’t many better of his type in this league...how good is it see a proper player with a number 9 on his back playing in a blue shirt. His third goal against Barnet and his unlucky effort at Solihull after that run and shot from distance which hit the post ...I thought he was going to do a similar run yesterday when he picked the ball up outside our box and ran the length of the pitch to just outside their box and I was screaming at box for him to have a shot...I’m sure he was tempted but played the ball out to Rowley I think . He’s a good carrier of the ball and drives the play forward always looking to get into dangerous areas. We’ve got a player ...no danger.

Played it to where he thought Dinanga should have been, but Dinanga was too close instead of drawing defenders off him. Bit difficult to pull away when Asante's approaching that fast, mind.

Shouldn't be with the pace Dinanga's got.

Just needs to know where to run to either create space for himself or the man with the ball. Keeping too tight in front blocks himself and the ball carrier off.

I'm quite sure JR will be pointing out what he should be doing and Dinanga will benefit from his coaching. If he takes things on board he could become quite a useful player.

Yes, maybe I'm being a bit harsh on Dinanga, but by the time he gets to our level a striker should know to get out of the way and draw defenders off without needing coaching.
But, to be fair, Asante's run took him straight towards Dinanga because of the position of the defenders.

A lot for me. Happy to win the ball back himself, run at goal from anywhere on the pitch and score with ease.

I know the threads going off at a bit of a tangent but one player, who I think was only here for a season, but who was immense in our achieving promotion and winning the Championship under Duncan in 84/85 was Midfielder John "Stanley" Mathews. Brilliantly cultured player and as hard as nails.
