In just a few months

Quite breathtaking really

The trust, the investors and everyone take a bow

How many posts (bet Moondog knows the number ) have been put up in here in the last four years containing the sentence ‘ apart from one or two you can get rid of the whole lot ‘ quite a few I bet

Well girls and boys ....
You wish is James Rowes command
When you think about it it’s not rocket science is it

Problem - Squad is garbage !

Solution - get rid of said squad and replace !

Absolutely loving it 💙💙

Stream ordered already for Saturday I’m absolutely buzzing
Great to be a Town fan once again !!!!

Yes , and Weston would still be in Central midfield.
Hes the best in that position he plays in the club.
The workrate he puts in is often overlooked and I believe JR is of the same opinion.

Not just Weston though is there that gets picked with a level of regularity from pre-Rowe times.

Evans, Hollis, Maguire, Denton and, of course, Weston make up 5 regular starters. Then, until now when it looks like changing, so has Letheran.

No1 Smith, Mandeville and Yarney have been in and around the squad too whilst Rowe indicated again, after last night, Rowley is still in his plans.

Apart from a number of goalies it will be interesting as to who else departs in the next few days.

Only CFC has been involved in NL transfers since the 18th.
Where are any leavers going to go?

Except as yet we've generally not 'replaced' and have 'bought on top of'

The Trust must be extremely confident of moving players on to 'balance the books', otherwise the current uncertainty should be ringing louder alarm bells than when someone started looking in desk drawers across the road and laptops mysteriously vanished in to thin air..

If that is the starting eleven tomorrow its quite ironic that the only pre Rowe survivors are two of the players most fans wanted out of the team earlier in the season

I think a lot of people were shocked Hollis was kept, but after the first few games this season we were all saying "where's Hollis?" after some poor defending, thats not to take away from JR and how Hollis has upped his game though, he's a totally different player under Rowe

I called for five new signings and lo and behold, he did just that and turned us into a team with promotion prospects but never, in my wildest dreams, would I have thought the signings would continue with, what seems, even further strengthening. The football looks good and further relegation seems a million miles away. To be fair, even with Pemberton's mini-revival, I felt his results were nick and tuck although accepted with great relief but it was clear he had his back to the wall and there was no sense of building for a promotion push. That is why Rowe is such a joy. He's given me/us our club back.

Rowe tells us when all the player departures have taken place, the club will be better off financially. That's good news. As for loans, the club is on record as wanting to borrow another million from Bolsover CC. That wasn't forthcoming but it does demonstrate they're willing to borrow more. We could have got lucky here. A loan from the government at preferential rates is far better that one which, if I'm wrong was at 6%.

Onward an upwards.

I understand that but you or I are not privy to the contracts awarded with the new players or the old ones

For example if we could offload two high earners they could free up 4/5 new earners coming in and we all know what daft wages were handed out on previous regimes

If Tom is out tomorrow I hope he pairs up Asante with Denanga and not Manderville.
My Team would be:-

Smith.
Evans.Gunning. Hollis.
Carline. Weston.Mccourt,Whelan, Clarke (Whittle).
Asante.Denanga.

Hollis has been a much better player in the middle of a back 3 rather than to the left of it. For me, if Gunning comes in then it's for Evans if we are to continue with a back three.

I've seen no evidence that Clarke is a better option than Taylor or Whittle either. We had a depleted squad out against Boston and Clarke remained on the bench with Hutchinson. Not sure if Taylor is still isolating but on the basis that we have seen him play I would expect him to start in front of the other two. Otherwise I would suggest it will be Whittle.

Agree with your middle three and front two though but seeing that we could be short of strikers with Denton out and Boden possibly on his way I do wonder if we might line up 4-2-3-1 ish.

You best put some time aside every week if you’re gonna be analysing lindave’s team suggestions

Thanks for not disappointing me Goku matey, you never fail to make a comment about my team selections.LOL. Like Eric Morcambe used to say about playing the right notes but necessarilly in the right order, the same can be said of me. Just dont want to see Asante left on his own up front would like Denanga giving him support in the abscence of big Tom, manderville is not the answer.
What would your team be then Gok?

Taylor would be my choice but isnt he in isolation until Monday like Tom?

Honestly I’d have the same as yours but Whittle in for Clarke at LWB and I don’t really have an opinion on which keeper to start. Maybe put names in a hat.

I’ve seen nothing of Asante as of yet, but from what I’ve read on here he’s the most ‘complete’ centre forward we’ve had for years.
Strong, quick and holds the ball up very well.

If this is the case, he’d be the ideal fit to play up on his own and look more at a 4-2-3-1 type set up?

Whichever you look at it or analyse it ... the team starting xi is almost unrecognisable from this time last season. Respect to Pembo for trying but Rowe has totally revamped, re energised and re invigorated. Long may it continue. Our recent form is promotion/ play offs form, so if the starting xi does become JR's own .... fine by me if its getting results.
There aint no Soul left in these old shoes... since you've been gone
