I don’t often criticise players but his performance in the Notts County play off game was the worst performance I’ve seen by a professional footballer

hmm that must mean you didn't see Humphreys away to Doncaster or Muggleton at Hartlepool. Both made Evans look like Messi.

I thought Evans was lucky to stay on the pitch for as long as he did today.

Not saying he was perfect and to be fair to him he knew his time was at an end and that must have an effect. He played in some Bunkum sides here.

He was the common denominator in many of them

Context though - defending in last minute of what’s possibly the last minute of the season and a chance to be closer to the League.
What’s he do? Absolutely nothing

He's still a head it boot it merchant. We have much better now thanks to JR. Shocking he was allowed to run unchallenged.

Yes our midfield was poor for a lot of the game. I'd guess that Boredom bossed the possession stats which I find inexcusable at home. When we did pass the ball second half we looked much better than them.

I don't think that's anywhere near being right but even if it is, it got 'em nowhere. Boden might as well have been sitting with me.

Should have not been on the field second half. The assault on miller should have been a yellow or even a red. His goal was just due to rank bad keeping.

I find myself agreeing with you fish!!!

Whilst, I thought, Evans played quite well for them he should have been booked for the terrible early foul on Miller and, as such, should not have even been on the pitch to be in a position to fire his wind assisted shot for Loach to fumble.

Up until his sending off. I thought it's his best game ever on that pitch.
Dominant in air and on the ground, found a player with his punts up front and freekicks. Actually was rather glad he got sent off cos he pretty much had Kabongo in his pocket. Topped off with a goal.
Just a shame we never got to see that player often enough. Motm up to his dismissal.

Tshimanga in his pocket!?? Are you sure..

I’d say it was the other way around, Kabby was relentless with his pressing, strength, running off the ball etc… Evans was probably glad to be leaving the pitch early so he didn’t have to chase after him anymore!!

Well if he did, and I disagree completely, it would be the first time he’s had an opposition striker in his pocket at the Technique, or what ever it’s called now.

The referee imo bottled the cynical foul by Evans on Miller in the first minute

It was obvious that they had targeted Miller as one of our main players and Evans went straight through him with no intent to play the ball

With 89 minutes left to play though the referee realised that another cynical foul so soon after would have meant Evans being sent off so he took the easy option and just warned him after the challenge

Miller having to go off so soon after the challenge proved that Evans thuggery had worked for Boring Wood but thankfully not the overall result in the end

Evans obviously knew Miller puts in some great crosses which would put the slow coach under lots of pressure. So he decides to cynically take him out early, in the knowledge the ref is unlikely to send anyone off so early in the game. Shameful tactics from Evans. Glad he got sent off eventually.

For a guy I've criticised for his gamesmanship I thought he gave a very good interview.

It makes one wonder how good a manager he could be if he was in charge of a club able to finance a larger squad.

Maybe he will get a chance at a bigger club and not indulge in the dark arts

He's worth taking a chance on, for a struggling, bigger club.

So Evans gets sent off for a really stupid assault in a nothing area of the pitch when his team are chasing the game and every second is vitally important.
I'd love to know what Payne said to him to wind him up. Bet it brought a smile to Miller's face.

Sam Muggleton now turning out for Bedworth United in the eighth tier.
These go to eleven.
