Their squad cost £21,000,000.. Put that against the vast majority of the PL and it shows how great an achievement this is, btw Vardy wasn't on 100k until very recently.

That puts things in perspective, no matter what the likes of Cartman says.

not being contrary, just pointing out that Leicester are backed by a very wealthy man and have spent money to get where they are

On that, I have read various claims that their lack of injuries could be down to more underhand tactics - probably nonsense but who knows

I think many factors have come together to create a perfect storm allowing an unfancied team to win - right investment over a few years, luck with injuries and some beneficial decisions, as well as bigger clubs having poor seasons

And it isn't unprecedented in the modern era, same as Wolfsberg winning the Bundesliga

Who of course are backed to the hilt by one of the major Car manufacturers in the world in the VW Audi group.

squad cost is only one factor

Leicester have seen sustained investment over a few years allowing them to:

Buy players for more money than they ever have in the past
Pay players more than they ever have done
Get out of the Championship (by paying scant regard to FFP rules)
Invest in state of the art training facilities
Invest in state of the art rehab and physio facilities
etc etc

Yes, it is a wonderful achievement and great for the game, but to carry on trying to argue that they've done it all on no money is just daft! Their owner is worth billions and has not been afraid to invest

Leicester are still under investigation by the Football League for potentially breaking FPP rules when they won the Championship.

http://www.theguardi...y-investigation

edit: and Bournemouth have today been fined for breaking the same rules when they won the championship.

http://www.bbc.com/s...otball/36189779

QPR were supposed to be fined under the same ruling, did they ever pay? The were supposed to be under threat of relegation to the conference if they didn't pay up on their return to the Football League.

Bournemouth seem to be going down the same path as they haven't paid yet

5 of the last 6 you list could be classed as squad players and according to you cost £32M. So their starting 11 cost around £21M. How many Premiership starting 11s cost less? At a guess only Bournemouth.

so spending money doesn't count unless they play every week?

According to the BBC, Leicester's squad cost £63M, still one of the lowest in the Prem this season.

Squad cost and transfer fees paid are the only relevant issues on judging their success, so I'd rather wait for the Leicester City accounts for 2015/2016 than bother listening to you

Nobody has said they achieved this on no money, just a lot less than the big spenders in the PL (and most others I daresay) and as far as your last 2 points that is as you say "investment", no bad thing I'd say

I would think the players Chelsea have sent out on loan cost more than half of other Premier League squads.

I do agree, investment is good

I would argue that infrastructure investment is just as relevant when judging success though, as Leicester have certainly seen the fruits of this investment as they have used the fewest players in the premier league this season

I bet Arsenal's rehab centre is an old caravan on bricks and they train on the local park that's why they had so many injuries

Perhaps luck had something to do with Leicester's lack of injuries? Just a theory

Another who can't read, no one has said it isn't a massive upset

Some have pointed out that Leicester haven't done it on as little money as some make out and that they have had a lot of money invested by a foreign owner

Think Russian / East German athletics or that bloke in the US with his 'legal' performance/recovery enhancers

Not for one minute suggesting this is true by the way, but earlier in the season I read some stuff about Leicester players recovering quicker than normally possible from certain types of injuries and mentions of their new science department
