There is always a goal of the season vote, what about save of the season. Tommy has taken some stick this season at times, for me I think he's been outstanding and won us many points, 2 top saves again today, what would be his best this season, anyone able to put together a compilation similar to the goal of season one recently launched? Must add in here as well a word for humph for his save today.

I'd love to see all Tommy's best saves in a compilation (that really would be worth seeing!) We certainly maybe thanking him for today alone in a couple of weeks as those saves today were massive in my book.

If only he had played every game in 2011-12.
Or, put it another way, imagine how many we could have conceded today if Fleming or Soderbergh had been in goal.

Whilst on the subject of goalies, how disappointing we weren't capable of testing their young keeper today.

Yea agreed Tommy made one absolutely outstanding save in the second half - however, I have to add a but at this point, it may be just me, but does anyone think Tommy isn't quite as good as when Crosley was goalkeeping coach? He is still a great shot stopper, but doesn't appear as commanding at crosses. I don't know - perhaps I've been watching town too long and pick up on stuff that isn't there

I agree with you. Tommy's having a good season, but by his top standards he's a bit below his usual very high level. It could be Crossley or it could be that he's not seen anywhere near like the action he's had in years gone by (even the championship season he was one of our busiest players, lol) and it may be a concentration thing, or something else.

The diving save away to his right was absolutely immense.

It'll be the one against Fleetwood at home in the last minute to keep a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw that guarantees our promotion! :ninja:

It certainly looked that way to me Tim, some save! Not much to look forwards to in the highlights, but that's one of them. The others are the dive for the penalty and Morsy's sending off; sad state of affairs when there is not one positive for us to view.

That would make an outstanding compilation. The only trouble is his agent will use it to get him a move

I thought the best save yesterday was by the Exeter defender who spread his arms to block that second half shot.

Infact the ref was so impressed he totally forgot to award a penalty!

He wasn't that far out & he nailed it in the corner. I'm pretty sure he'd have though 'goal' as soon as it left his boot.

Josh Power@JoshWP 4h@marciabigg I can certainly look into it. Bit of a busy few weeks coming up so I may not get chance until after the season.

The only way a 0-0 draw with Fleetwood wouldn't be enough is:

  • If Fleetwood picked up 4 or more points than us in the other 2 games (so we'd have to avoid winning a single game and them avoid losing a game) and Rochdale bettered our form.

  • If Burton won today, beat us and picked up 2 (or more) more points than us in the remaining 2 games and Rochdale bettered our form.

That's all barring an incredible change in goal difference over the next 3 games anyway! (And also ignoring the possibility that Scunny come out of those 3 games with 2 fewer points than us)

Not so incredible. If we lose two points on Burton, lose to them, and only draw v Fleetwood, I cant see Rochdale not being able to beat that by a point. Plus, clearly Scunthorpe wouldn't have to do anything.
