Another quality 'funny' quote to add to the other thread...

Chris Turner commenting on the attendances against the poorer travelled sides in league one (Rochdale, Yeovil, MK etc): The attendances in those games could be anything between four and half and seven thousand. We need them to be a minimum of seven!

And if he mentions Yeovil, Dale and MK friggin Dons one more time I'm sure I'll SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM!!!

Giving Turner his cards.

After listening to that interview again I agree

The attendance we need to improve the squad grew from 7000, 7000-7500 to 7500-8000 in the course of a 14 minute interview

Another piece of utter rubbish is his shining light, Bournemouth who he claims went through 2 divisions on the back of a transfer embargo

They went through 2 divisions with a mad chairman but with the backing of some shadowy Russian, pumping money in at a furious rate

Transfer embargo, utter rubbish, got his timeline totally wrong :excl:

That's the half life

Hopefully over that many years inflation will've cut the debt in half in real terms

It could be worse - we could be watching a team in yellow, in a crap 3 sided ground managed by Paul Cox and with a budget 0f £800k

Sadly makes me feel no better at this current time. Their orange faced charming lady would be as good at calculating sums as CT is.

I've nothing against the bloke personally. I've done no more than nod hello at the bar to him. But the truth of the matter is that he's well out of his depth and is making both himself, and by definition the club, look more and more silly each time he opens his mouth publicly.

At least she would have made sure it was cash up front.

So how do other clubs make them work?? Examples being Donny and Brighton - both way out of town stadiums, yet incorporate good supporters bars. Both doing a roaring trade on the games i've visited.

Even visiting fleetwoods & dagenham a last year, their supporters bars were great

Look, stop going on about it, we aren't getting one as it's only used twice a month and could lose us money... leave that up to DA and the board they know how to do it better :glare:

Those same 'sources' in whose words I have varying degrees of trust predict a loss of between half, and one and a half million over the last financial year.

Unsurprisingly DA will be furious and demanding all manner of measures to stabilise the situation.

One of which is a moratorium on player signings.

However that's not what fans wanna hear, so the CEO is clearly attempting to placate supporter unrest in the wake of Monday's announcement.

For what it's worth this whole episode is a PR car crash; why not another fans forum similar to that of the Spring of 2012? Why not openly admit individuals at the Club miscalculated, in terms of both budgets and attendances (including the popularity of the recent gigs), and request understanding from us punters?

Most Town fans are reasonable and adult enough to appreciate the truth - infact the contradictory waffle we're currently receiving is counterproductive!

They limited the last one to Supporters Club members only, presumably to ensure an easier ride through it!

As I recall the official supporters club members got 1st priority, then after that punters could pay for the privilege of being there!
