Why did DA want us promoted, for his ego maybe? Certainly wasn't due to financial benefits of being in L1 with all these all alledged bonuses he's having to pay out. Perhaps DA didn't know about these bonuses, the more fool him in that case.

Personally I think it is more complex than bonuses, attendance projections or failed concerts.

Re. these bonuses, what's the betting that they were over & above the playing budget that CT & DA have previously spoken about?

Oh give it a rest. Mr. Allen is paying for the dramatic reduction in land prices that meant we got millions less for Saltergate than we would have done three years earlier.
A drop in land prices that was foreseen by nobody, and for which even such a biased source as you can't possibly hold BH responsible.
Nasty cough you've >ahem< managed to pick up. If you've got something to say then say it, and spare us the Beano stuff.

if mr allen is paying for it why do we owe him 6 million quid

fans who think chairmen should put endless money into clubs are idiots

it's his money, he has put plenty in so far, if he wants to put no more in then up to him

he knows that to get a return on his investment the football side of the business needs to do well

some of the posts on here are ridiculous

His latest statement is quite funny. "One or two things that happened financially were disappointing". No mention of what, like.

I totally agree but he's still got to make sure that the club we all put so much hard earned money into is being run properly.

I'd agree with that - The FOOTBALL side of things means on the pitch! Unfortunately from what he's said so far, doing well in a football capacity counts for nothing because we still haven't turned up to watch and we won't next season (apparently) hence the lack of any sort of budget. Does that mean that then that DA doesn't actually want to get a return on his investment? Because I think you'll find he does

Why are you continually ranting on about the attitude of posters

You can count on one hand the number of people expecting DA to put more and more money into the club. However there is nothing wrong in hoping. Hope and expectation ate two different thing. Everyone accepted he was a businessman with little or no affiliation to the club when he first came in so it's too late to moan now, however these moaners are few and far between.

What is justified is criticism of his and his appointees spin and there attempts to shift the blame resulting in a PR disaster

And by the way these chairman who plough money into clubs with no expectation of getting it back do exist and more often than not it works

Well said that man! Take a green un!

Also - from what the fans were told 3 seasons ago (and even half way through last season) you can't help but feel we have been led up the garden path again.

When I was a kid, everyone used to say to me - "Ahhh Chesterfield don't want promotion - they can't afford it." I would argue till I was blue in the face - and that promotion actually bought you income rather than the other way round. The trouble is that saying still exists and its the actions of the chairman of this club over the years that have hammered it into the public consciousness.
