Why would Ashley, a man universally disliked by supporters, go in a supporters' bar after a poor defeat at home unless it was to generate a reaction like the one he got?

Was he applauded? just to add, if it's true, regardless of what we thought of the players yesterday, what business has he got revealing people's wages? Surely that's covered under some data protection act somewhere? If he actually did that of course!

I've got AC's explanation.

He was there with the match sponsors Regency Shipping who were having a staff get together after the match. He stayed for about an hour and half talking mainly to fans.

He answered every question and listened to many points of view.

Some questions were about the playing budget where he accessed a file showing the bottom line total wage bill of £1.2m. Absolutely no individual wages were disclosed, other than to deny that Gerrard was paid over £2,000 a week, that a fan had said had been confirmed to him on good authority.

I was talking to a couple of fans last night at the Bridge Inn do who were present, with one conceding he was initially quite hostile towards Ashley. I was told about the wage file being shown but it was confirmed it showed no names.

So he's got a spreadsheet on his phone, showing wages but no names, on the off chance that he can show it to folk? Is that supposed to impress people?

If he was trying to prove that the player budget isn’t being starved, than maybe he should break down the total wage bill between players, coaching staff, academy and everything else on the next set of accounts.

It tells me all I need to know about his bullet-proof attitude that he can waltz in there and seemingly charm his way out.

Did anyone buy him a glass of vino tinto?

It's quite embarrassing that the bloke largely responsible for where we are can rub punters noses in it after a home defeat to Chorley - that's effing CHORLEY!

He must be laughing his knackers off...

He has everything to do with the club on an iCloud Drive so can access everything from any device. So it isn't a case of him carrying random files on his phone.

Why are Regency Shipping, a Berkshire company with no local connections seemingly, sponsoring the club?

They transport Ashley's precious metals. Quite why he would want to take a supplier in there, knowing the reaction he would get, is anyone's guess.

that wasn't a spreadsheet that was his business plan to be hung in the shiter as they'd run out of toilet rolls.

I wonder if Ashley's bosses former tenant James Stunt uses them?
