Tough choice, today.

Is it the Nigel Farage who declared he'd 'pick up a rifle' to enforce Brexit - one of numerous references to civil disorder he's made, who referred to gay people as 'fags' whilst mocking someone's death, who unveiled a pejorative poster depicting fleeing refugees on the morning Jo Cox was assassinated and who, when condemning censorship of offensive remarks in 2014, declared 'Enough's enough; let people tell their jokes!'...

..yet who's reported an admittedly crass crack made by a comedian on a comedy show to the Police?

Is it conservative talk-show hosts like, say, Nick Ferrari, who usually peddle disgusted indignation at so called 'snowflakes' wasting police time yet who've said not a word to criticise Farage doing so?

Or is it that bastion of family values 'The Sun' who's front page features damnation of Jo Brand/the BBC alongside a headline backing 'Bonking Boris'? Or in other words make an ugly quip and you deserve the sack but be a serial adulterer and it's nudge-nudge, wink-wink, 'He's a bit of a lad' style support for No 10.

The winner will receive the award from yesterday's victors - all those wholesome, supposedly Christian members of Boris Johnson's audience who jeered female journo's referencing him trashing at least half the Ten Commandments...

I’d say Rees mogg who when questioned inch4 news about supportingjohnson although his moral views conflicted with much of Johnson’s actions (namely drugs shagging about & pressurising a woman to have an abortion) basically said he’s voting for the politician not the man.
So as long as he keeps the tories in power he will go along with it. May not be the worse offence but when you sneer from on high like Rees mog the hypocrisy is sickening.

I'd go for the 114 conservative MPs who voted for him as leader despite what his previous boss said about him, because they think he is most likely to keep their gravy train running...

His former bosses comments? Max Hastings who once managed BJ had this to say about his former member of staff in 2012:

"Most politicians are ambitious and ruthless, but Boris is a gold medal egomaniac. I would not trust him with my wife nor – from painful experience – my wallet. It is unnecessary to take any moral view about his almost crazed infidelities, but it is hard to believe that any man so conspicuously incapable of controlling his own libido is fit to be trusted with controlling the country.
His chaotic public persona is not an act – he is, indeed, manically disorganised about everything except his own image management. He is also a far more ruthless, and frankly nastier, figure than the public appreciates.
He is not a man to believe in, to trust or respect, save as a superlative exhibitionist. He is bereft of judgment, loyalty and discretion. Only in the star-crazed, frivolous Britain of the 21st century could such a man have risen so high, and he is utterly unfit to go higher still"

I'd almost rather have Jezza...

Hard to disagree with any of that.

Indeed, but despite all that, I wouldn’t vote for Momentum. BoJo will be Labour’s best chanceto get back in to power for decades, but we can’t vote for Labour any more, the option is Momentum and they have. Got no chance of winning middle England over. So we could have 5 more years - and given what he said when Brown took over from Blair, you have to think he will go to the polls quickly to get a mandate for his policies / get a longer period in office before he is truly found out....

Interesting dichotomy, in't it Smig.

Both privileged Etonians, yet whilst one adopts the demeanour of a bumbling buffoon to appeal to the masses the other affects that of a pompous and pious aristocrat courting the cap doffers and forelock tuggers.

Sadly both have secured more than willing constituencies...

Oddly, BJ (snigger) is the man that they think has the best chance of beating them, simply due to his popularity.

More chance of me stapling my own ball sack to the kitchen chopping board than Boris calling a snap election. He will see out the full term, knowing that, as you correctly identify, “middle England” won’t vote for them, while he’s popular with this demographic.

If he can deliver on brexit, then ride out the next 2 years without a calamitous outcome he’s pretty safe.

It’s actually a situation more damning to Corbyn that with the tories in total and utter disarray they still aren’t streets ahead.
A new hope.

Today's hypocrite of the day is >drumroll<…...

..>ta-dah< Tory leadership candidate Boris DePiffel Johnson!

Y'know, the bloke currently ducking and dodging any kind of realistic exchange despite saying this only last year: https://www.express....l-4-politics-uk

Though it was a very close run thing given his five opponents fell over themselves during last evening's debate to pledge support for public services...

..they'd spent the last few years voting to cut.

Oh, and Dominic Raab told everyone how Brexit should be done - conveniently forgetting he was the Brexit effing Minister!

Today's hypocrite of the day award goes to - the entire right wing media.

Because after throwing a collective temper tantrum over Jo Brand's 'battery acid' quip there's not a single syllable from them to condemn pudgy Penfold lookalike and ultra Brextremist Mark Francois telling a protestor he's 'signing his death warrant'.

https://www.lbc.co.u...rexit-comments/

Now to be fair to the Territorial who boasted to SKY's Beth Rigby 'I was in the Army - I wasn't trained to lose' whilst regularly quoting WW2 when discussing Brexit (despite being half Italian) his comments were clearly in context.

So let's hope no one wastes any more Police time reporting them just to masturbate their own attention seeking ego...

Early front runner today is that bastion of objective and fair minded opinion the Daily Mail.

They've dedicated yet another front page to slaughtering the BBC for allowing a bloke who'd tweeted amti-Semitic and mysoginistic views onto the Tory leadership debate.

Okay, legitimate criticism to a point; but where were the same accusations of bias when a Tory councillor was allowed to harangue Ed Miliband on a similar show during the 2015 election? And after lying her way into the audience?

Plenty of time for other candidates to trump that though, and with Boris Johnson supporters insisting they heard him promise to leave the EU on Halloween - despite video footage proving tbe opposite - they're queueing up to do so...
