Surely they can do an Accrington, Wimbledon or Aldershot although it might take a decade

Hope so

There's a good amount of there support that wanted this simply because there owners were taking and running. According to what I heard anyway.
No doubt wel'll see another Phoenix rise cos when all is said and done when people who love the club do what they can for it!
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

yes thats true, most were boycotting games.

A shame, but the club has now been put out of its misery. Expect to see a fans trust owned pheonix club next season
A new hope.

Hereford fans I have on twitter and have met at England games generally wanted this to happen and had been boycotting games for over 12 months now. Sure they will be back stronger than before just like Chester, Wimbledon, Aldershot etc did

Just look at some of the clips on you tube with fans confronting the owner..best thing that could happen for them in the long run

Fans shafted by suits yet again.

But as the likes of Chester and Halifax have proven, starting from scratch can sometimes be a positive.

A thought: where would we be if we'd taken that route back in 2001/2?

I was at that match and remember it well.

From reading the backstory, it seems that a community club is in the process of formation and that some HUFC fans are quietly relieved that the senior management of their club has been effectively made redundant. Lonsdale has said he intends to appeal however and has enough cash to clear the debts.

Knowing our luck probably stuck in the Conference North losing to the likes of Hednesford & Tamworth, be grateful for small mercies!

I'm simply relaying what I read in the newspaper piece about the club. He (Lonsdale) intends to appeal.

I wonder if that will cost him substantial money and (even if he does have the funds), it seems many in Hereford have moved on.

AFAIK he assured the court through his legal team that sufficient funds existed, but the judge wasn't convinced.

It will be a difficult situation however, if he does (demonstrably) have the wherewithal and wins an appeal - where then for Hereford? As I understand it, their results have been expunged (unless it's subject to appeal).

I'd have said Conference North or Conference proper tbh.

Edgar Street is a horrible ground, but I hope their loyal fans find a way to raise the club from the ashes, its always sad news when a small club goes under.
