Lots of players who aren't contracted to CFC scored today...
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

It may be a result of us improving his game whilst he was training with us. He played plenty of minutes but didnt score, had a good opportunities as well.
Good luck to lad.

DJ played his part in our early season, after discovering his best position almost by accident, clearly enjoyed his time with us and left saying all the right things.

Cook made a mistake dropping him over the last few weeks of his loan.

However we move on; Cook accepted his error and has reverted back to our preferred line-up whilst the player is contributing for another club, as loan rules dictate.

I say celebrate Dan Johnson's success, and if he becomes available at some point in the future let him know he's welcome at Chesterfield FC.

Chris, when you say found his best position almost by accident, he played in that central attacking midfield position against us pre season.

Ok, maybe he wasn't brought in to fill that position, but I think it's a bit harsh to say we found it by accident.

By all accounts he played there for Villa youth and nextgen, was 'a stand out performer', scoring a number of key goals.

Wasn't at the game, 'Sammy', so all I saw was him being introduced v Hudders to no real effect then moving further forward when Roberts was injured.

A seminal event, to me.

If he continues to build on his form with us I guess it only serves to place him beyond our grasp, but I choose to celebrate his contribution rather than in any way bemoan his absence.

Should we read anything in to Villa allowing him to play in the FA Cup for Oldham today, after previously refusing us permission to play him?

I thought Johnson's loan period was up before the cup game?

It certainly means that Villa aren't intending to use him in their cup campaign
