You're not allowed to make mistakes.....and certainly not allowed a second chance. Bob's board rules you see!

Would you be so forgiving if the victim had been one of your own?

What difference should that make? Should crimes be treated more harshly if you know the victim?

Not on about forgiveness. We are on about mistakes and being allowed another chance to get on with your life....especially when that person has served his punishment handed down to him. Different if that person is just downright evil and inflicts suffering on others purposefully.

Exactly where did I say that? I never mentioned sentencing at all. I said would you be as forgiving if the person he killed was one of your own? Is forgiveness easier when the victim is someone else's relative and not your own? I could never forgive anyone who killed some one in my family. If the victim is some one else's relative then it is not for me to forgive him in the first place, even though I would have a lot of sympathy for them.

This is why when laws are drawn up emotions have to be kept out of it. Otherwise they would be biased.

Don't know if Ilson are the new Fleetwood but I reckon it would be a coup for them if they signed him up. When did he last play here? Notts County in our relegation year? Looked ok then and I'm sure he netted that day cos I can remember that silly dance of his!

Look don't people get what I am trying to say? Sentencing maybe correct for the crime committed and as you say emotions should be kept out of the courts but we are human and emotions cannot be kept out of things. It's an impossibility. What people seem to be saying is that if someone has served their time they should be forgiven. I personally don't subscribe to this philosophy. As I have said I could never forgive anyone who hurt one of my family, no matter what their sentence was. Amazing that very few on this thread have spoken at all about the victim and their family. All I am asking is would you all be so forgiving if it was your child he had killed? I am yet to recieve an answer

Probably not no. But like I said....It would be a biased view.

Chill out youth. This is a football forum. More specifically it's about Town. If you want to put the world to rights do it somewhere else.
