Men Behaving Badly got me through my formative years!

The episode where Debs and Dorothy go away on a creative writing weekend and Gary and Tony have a BBQ is fantastic.

And a current town season ticket holder appears in the same series albeit briefly

Who’s that and what did they do in the show?

They were doing up 'Thornley Manner' said to be in deepest Derbyshire, but it was actually filmed at Beethorp Hall, the wrong side of the M1.

I think they were advised to head to Chesterfield by the locals if they wanted some decent night life, and on a rare day off one of the group suggested they head to Staveley, too.

Very knowledgeable. Quiz question for you:In series 1 Bomber had to return home when his daughter went missing. His wife appeared briefly she's a better known character in another well known, long running programme accompanied by another member of the A.W.P cast. Who did she play in this other programme?
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Not sure of her name Mick but she played Mobile Scooter bound Madge in Benidorm ... which obviously also starred Tim Healy

Cant be bothered to google her name ...Hardly the spirit of quizzing anyway

Meaningless fact: I used to go to see Sheffield Utd in London many years ago with the then relatively unknown Sean Bean and his wife (who was Barry's wife in Auf and nowadays in Corrie)

Anybody remember the great comedy Bread? It was very good but my favorite comedy of the past is Last of the Summer Wine. Timeless

I'm 50/50 on last ofnthe summer wine. If it's a episode from the 1990s when it was composed clegg and foggy i love them but i feel it went on way too long after compo died with major characters passing away as each series went by

And a mention of Chesterfield in one episode of Auf Veidersein Pet

Yeah that was in series 2, Oz says don't fancy endingup in a ditch. In reality the village of redmile where they were staying must be 30 mile away and Nottingham much closer. Doubt they would name check it for nightclubs now ha ha

There is a YouTube channel called Retrouktv1.

On it are complete series of old uk tv shows such as When The Boat Comes In, The Onedin Line and loads of others you may never have heard of or completely forgotten about. There are also loads of 70’s and 80’s Sitcoms like the Liver Birds, The Lovers, The Upchat Connection, Up The Elephant and Round The Castle, Me and My Girl etc etc.
Well worth checking out, there’s loads of stuff on there and although a lot appears to have come from VHS recordings it’s surprisingly good quality and very watchable.

Bread, along with Men Behaving Badly and Friends are three extremely popular comedies that I just never really enjoyed!

Staunton Ilkeston ex Central Midlands
Andy if you see Mr B. he could give you a blow by blow account (literally!!)
The ground was known as "The Stute" which may be known to some cricketers? on here as it was also home to Staunton Elks CC different field, same pavilion. The football pitch is now home to Ilkeston RUFC.
