Hi,

I'm switching on a new feature of the messageboard. It allows you to change your display name on the board.
Your log-in name remains the same, but the name shown on the board when you post a topic or reply will be as you have set it.

To change your display name click on "My controls", which is at the top of the screen, and then "Change display name" which is half way down on the right.

You are allowed to make 2 changes per year to your display name.

If you want to change your Log-in name. Please, drop me a PM. I'll do my best to help.

If you want to see the history of somebody's display name, click on their user name and then select view display name history from the options button.

(Any mis-use of this function will mean the facility will be withdrawn.)

Any questions? just ask...

Cheers

Denny

Yikes Sam,
It feels like my eyes have been taken out and spin-dried!

Maybe we'll have to up the number of name changes if people need a while to get used to it!

Actually, Clingan's been very patiently waiting for me to change his name for him (as has Paul Hall), at first i was just too knackered at night to change things, but I thought getting this facility going would save us all some work.
On that, Clingan, if you want me to change your log-on name to what you wanted it to be, I can still do that, and since we've got this new version of the board working, it's a task i can do at any time, not just at night after a backup.

You don't unless there's a special circumstance, it messes the board up too much.

Surely if someone asks for their profile to be removed it has to be done in accordance with the Data Protection Act?

Must have missed this first time around but what would the DPA have to do with whether they delete their profile or not?

Can I force Equifax to delete my credit profile or the NHS my Summary Care Record?
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

I have no idea, that's why I added a question mark at the end of the sentence. This message boards' admin are holding personal information about him and they simply wont budge. I cant for the life of me understand why.

I cant see what the big deal is with the message board admin. Is it an ego trip that makes them feel important? Who knows but I suspect deleting the profile isn't going to cause the message board to crash beyond repair because Dema wants out.

I believe they are hanging on to him for the fun factor. What's the big deal, delete him and let him get on with what he wants.

Mark nothing wrong with the board except the childish actions of some,i posted a question to Denny yesterday someone replied not with a valid answer but something that wasn't relevant i told him i wasn't talking to him,i get 2 minus marks for that, how old are these people !!!!! i am staying around if i got deleted all my posts would go and there will be gaps here there and everywhere that is the reason,i just take breaks from the board every now and again, they are not even happy with that,it is like oh he's back aim for the red button,if i was bothered about any data protection i wouldn't post at all.....
