That's it. This bag of sh*te season is over. On and off the pitch it's been horrendous. Looks like the club hierarchy has finally sussed out we've been haemorrhaging cash and have applied some sort of control. So, to next season then. No money, no star players to guarantee the bounce back. Looks like we'll have a team of journeymen and 50p a week wage earners. If ever success was down to the manager then CFC's 2017/18 campaign is gonna be evidence, or otherwise, of that. It's down to you then Gaz. Make a silk purse out of this particular sow's ear and Championship/Premierships clubs will be taking a long hard look at you. Good luck!

Or even better, please go back to Wigan and we can all start afresh.
These go to eleven.

More likely the club hierarchy has finally sussed out that the more enlightened supporters have finally sussed out what's happening!

AC the superhero, running the club on his own while holding down a full time job, watching players, negotiating transfers, all this with no football experience and all this supposedly with no pay.
More like the ringmaster in charge of a circus. With all the unwanted records in our 150th season add the highest number of loyal fans lost in one season.

This is wor I think.

The Dark Age was all about intrigue, allegations, dirty work, shifty characters, sleight of hand, movement of cash. The people responsible have gone. The Dark Age has passed.

Ashley wants a clean sheet, an end to the old questions, and is open and transparent about the new regime. He has intimated that Allen will support a fresh start and that the future of the club is secure.

We now have a management team who may not succeed but who are honest and hard working. They will do their best and I've a feeling they will succeed.

Wor I say to Ashley is.....Answer the remaining questions about the Dark Age, let's put it behind us, and I'll get behind the new team and provide support on BB wherever there are grounds for optimism.
Derbys against Mansfield, Lincoln, Grimsby, Port Vale, Coventry, Notts, seem quite enticing.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

No pay - expense account, nice little dividend and whatever DA gives him in shares. Thats not bad if/when a new buyer comes in.
God I hate this league.

The only way AC can put the 'intrigue, allegations, dirty work, shifty characters, sleight of hand, movement of cash' behind us is to do what we suggested at November's fans' forum.

Take the PR hit, no matter how hard it might be, name names, whoever they are, and totally divorce CFC from those associated with the litany of scandals that've dragged it's name into the gutter.

And if that means hanging former colleagues out to dry, including some pretty high profile figures, then so be it.

It might not be pretty, but only the truth will deliver the clean slate to which you refer.

And everyone of those teams will be pushing for promotion next season, you can add a couple more swindon exeter ( if they don't go up) to the list, L2 now is stronger than the last time we were there, a top half finish with this board/owner/manager, will be an achievement. I fear for us.

Turkey and Christmas comes to mind..could he ever truely reveal the depths to which the club has plummeted without casting questions over himself?

Doubt Nutts will be pushing for promotion, they'll be racing us to the bottom with Newport & Cheltenham.

There are about 10-15 clubs in league 2 who won't get promoted but who could easily 'push on' next season if they get recruitment right. If Caldwell has a semi-competitive budget and is able to mould the side as he wants in the summer then you've got a chance. If not then he'll really have to earn his corn.

We were told this season that there were a couple of sides with bigger playing budgets than us (we're currently fan-owned and therefore largely self-funding, which neutralises the effect of our gates to an extent), and we were supposedly in with a bunch of 8-10 clubs with similar budget.

You'd have to fancy Lincoln to challenge in L2 next year. Of the clubs that aren't already up Luton have good financial backing, Blackpool are strong - despite their abhorrent owners, and the likes of Cambridge, Notts County, Exeter, Colchester are all likely to be up there next term.

I don't know enough about the stature/momentum of the teams coming down with you apart from Coventry - who, assuming the current takeover attempt isn't successful are going to be in all sorts of trouble next season.

Speaking to a couple of town players in town last night that said there's only a couple of the lads that get on with GC. Said they never know what he's gonna do one minute to next and them as players are just as confused about team selection and formations as us as fans. Positive stuff.

I'm told he fell out with young Conner because he didn't want him to go on international duty. Conner said he wanted too and he was very proud to be selected. The manager on Conners return didn't pick him for the blues and said you didn't want to play last week for us, you won't be this week. Something along them lines anyway

Apart from the fact he's not really ready for a first team slot. Midfield much "better" with Nolan Grimshaw and.... Gardner
