You're right Warfey, so much for protecting the integrity of the game

It's sad that after so many years of league football at Brisbane Road, the last few minutes end up like that.

We should sign the Orient number 35 as he obviously has an impressive appetite for the ball.

Fans doing a blackpool, invaded pitch with 5 mins to go and won't leave, protesting against the owner, will it be us next season??

Not a chance. Town fans haven't got it in em. Whilst Coventry, Orient, Blackpool etc fight for the survival of the club our fans send a few angry tweets. We could end up in a position as serious as Orients and nobody would ever know as I don't think anyone has it in them to fight for the club, very sad to see

In the late nineties folk sick and tired of the way CFC was being run got off their asses, did summat about and formed SIFA.

When Darren Brown was raping the Club folk got off their asses, did summat about it and formed the CFSS.

The last couple of years have seen folk repeatedly recieving rumours do summat about it.

In other words don't sit behind a computer complaining that others aren't organising protests for you - do summat about it!

It looks like people are waiting for someone to become the "lead activist" and then support might be shown.

We used a civic building in Stockholm to host a meeting recently. Two speakers were late in traffic, so the organisation holding their meeting got to run on for longer as we waited quietly. There was a fascinating dynamic to those chairing the meeting with those in attendance. There was no leader in the meeting. As we were setting up, I spoke with the man who closed the meeting and asked about what just happened. His response:

In a non-hierarchical organisation, there’s a concept of “no leaders” that is often misunderstood.
Somebody says to an alpha-male or alpha-female “here’s what you should do / this is what we need / when is somebody going to do this / why haven’t you done this…”
And person receives a certain look in response to their statement. The "alpha" won’t tell you what that look means because that would be hierarchical (Swedish jokes, you've got to love 'em!).
That look means ‘great idea, I agree. Why don’t you do it? You print the leaflets, I’ll distribute them; you call a meeting, I’ll attend; you call an action, we’ll come along; but you need a plan before you announce anything, otherwise you're not going to produce any action

So, I won't ask who's going to get the ball rolling because that would be hierarchical(!) but I do hope this might inspire someone to grasp the nettle...

I'm putting forward MDC as chair of spireites that give a f**k.

If there's no objections you can all form rank behind him and actually do something before you disappear.

You're welcome.

Farewell to the Orient, "Never again kid, never again"

This is a good read, poignant and saddening and perhaps gives me a glimpse of how I'd really feel if this should happen to us.
It's not the despair. I can take the despair. It's the hope I can't stand.

That's a terrific piece of writing.

Moving, in a football fan kinda way.

And but for different names it has been, is, and will continue to be the experience of all too many lower league supporters.

I've been reading a lot about Vikings recently. Their culture has come a long way since then!

What tangible difference have those protests made?

Highlighted to a national news level the mis-management at the respective clubs, and brought attention to the owners who would have prefered to not be quite so in the spotlight, decisions made after such protests may be different to those taken if no protest happened?? Who knows??
