First, since when did CFC specialise in players like Ryan and Banks going down and faking injury? Also the time wasting. Very, very poor! Team selection - how on earth do you justify dropping Johnson? CFC played pretty football but never looked dangerous. Our full backs are poor. Darikwa was dreadful. One of the issues is that when our full backs bomb forward and lose possesion the wide midfield men don't drop in the space to cover. Look at O'Shea for the first goal. We still lack the big forward option - the Armand decision only makes sense of someone comes in. Delivery into the box is poor as are the corners and freekicks. Banks was very poor. We missed Roberts. Bottom line? The full back positions risk underming our season.

Yes, very cold and windy. Both sides played the ball on the floor. We never really troubled them

your comment about the good football? Personally I thought the conditions didn't lend themselves to good football, and its possibly the poorest display of the season so far?

I was there and thought this was spot on - except we only played good football in very short spells.

And lets be honest Drew Talbot, wholehearted though he is, is a marginally better full back and just as bad re crossing.

I think Colchester Utd illustrated the benefit of having good long term relationship with clubs that bring up players the right way - they regularly pick-up from Chelsea, Arsenal, West Ham ... etc. CFC could usefully develop similar relationship but we must then develop said loanees or signings. Our last attemp in the creative miidfield department didn't end well with the departure seeing his career spirall downwards and out of control Where is he now?

Finally, with only one experienced striker letting Armand out is hard to understand.

It looks like CFC will have to be busy re-building over the next few weeks as, in a tight league, CFC could soon be looking at the lower end of the table.

TBF you make some very good points and you are spot on with your assessment of Drew.
I don't feel we'll trouble the relegation places unless Cook really upsets team morale by making poor decisions and blaming the team and not himself (okay he blamed himself against Oldham, but he made some shockers last night, the biggest by far in not starting Johnson).

Thank you. The scary aspect was how we looked without Johnson! We ended up with lots of posession but, effectively, just moving the ball from wing to wing with no penetration, and to be fair, not a lot to aim at on the forward line. Without a replacement letting Armand go is hard to comprehend - I can only assume someone will arrive this week.

As cold and windy as it was its a very poor turnout last night by the Colchester fans. They could all have sat in one stand.
